    Episode titles taken literally.

What if episode titles on the Simpsons were taken literally?
    Starting with season 1.
Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire
The Simpsons are burnt to a crisp.
    Bart The Genius
    Same as before
    Homer's Odyssey
Homer gets a Honda Odyssey. Hilarity ensues.
    There's No Discgrace Like Home
    Same
    Bart The General
Bart joins the army. Hilarity ensues.
    Moaning Lisa
Lisa profusely moans for 22 minutes.
    The Call Of The Simpsons
The Simpsons get a new phone. Hilarity ensues.
    The Telltale Head
    Dunno
    Life On The Fast Lane
    Marge enters NASCAR. Hilarity ensues.
    Homer's Night Out
    Same
    The Crepes Of Wrath
The family gets attacked by evil crepes.
    Krusty Gets Busted
    Same
    Some Enchanted Evening
    No Clue
You're a dolt with the IQ of a peabrain that probably loves lowbrow sitcoms like The Big Bang Theory, Frasier and Seinfeld to not grasp the biting satire and wit of the classic 65 (Rugrats).

    Bart Gets an F:

    Bart, uh, gets an F.

    Simpson and Delilah:

Homer goes back to Biblical times and inadvertently changes them in a parody of Forrest Gump.

    Treehouse of Horror:

Bart decorates his treehouse to make it scary.

Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish:

Quite similar to the real thing, but this time Mr. Burns is a Hitler-esque figure who wants to enforce the rules shown in the title.

    Dancin' Homer:

Homer reviews the latest tunes in an episode that's incredibly dated 25 years later.

    Dead Putting Society:

Homer joins a country club and is horrified to find out that many of the residents have died, despite that most of them were of old age when that happened.

    Bart vs. Thanksgiving:

Bart just doesn't like Thanksgiving. Plain and simple.

    Bart the Daredevil:

Um, the same plot except Bart is a famous daredevil.

    Itchy & Scratchy & Marge:

Marge becomes Springfield's most embarrassing mom when she becomes a voice actor on Itchy & Scratchy as the fun-killing squirrel.

Bart Gets Hit By a Car:

Bart gets hit by a car in an episode that's actually about Bart getting hit by a car.

One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish:

Homer buys Lisa some fish which she loves and Homer has to stop one of them from dying when they forget to feed it. Like the real thing, this would be a touching episode.

    To be continued.

I think the old seasons have a bit too many descriptive titles to work, so I'll use some of the puns from the later seasons.

    Judge Me Tender:

Judge Synder becomes an Elvis-esque crooner.

Different thing. That thread was about episode titles that actually DO describe the contents of the episode, this thread is about what if they were taken literally.

Season 4 has a lot of "tell it like it is" titles, e.g. Homer the Heretic, Marge Gets a Job, Lisa's First Word, Homer's Triple Bypass (even though it was a quadruple bypass). So I'm just going to do the ones that aren't like that. And Stitch-Face took care of A Streetcar Named Marge and Whacking Day.

Lisa the Beauty Queen: Lisa is judged to be the most beautiful person in the world, and is thus judged to be the queen of beauty.

Treehouse of Horror III: Bart and Lisa decorate their tree house thrice.

Brother From the Same Planet: Lisa think Bart is far too awful to be from Earth, so she starts researching other possible planets he could be from. She falls into a deep misery when Marge tells her that he is indeed from Earth.

Last Exit to Springfield: The family is going back to Springfield from a vacation. They almost get lost, but they manage to find the last exit on the highway leading to the town and get home safely.

So It's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show: The family finds out that Marge has a box of everybody's nail clippings. They take them out and try to deduce which nails belonged to which family member.

The Front: The family starts a drug operation, with their front being a seafood restaurant. But when The Frying Dutchman closes, everybody heads to the Simpsons' house, leading them to fear about being found out.

Marge in Chains: Marge gets multiple chain piercings.

    These are fun.

    Bart's Inner Child
Bart undergoes complex surgery to remove a small child who through a freak accident has become entrapped in Bart's colon.

    Lisa on Ice
    Lisa stands on some ice.

    A Star is Burns
Mr Burns undergoes gravitational collapse, and eventually becomes a luminous sphere of plasma. Smithers is not pleased.
    Season 26 Ratings:
    Clown in the Dumps, 3/10; The Wreck of the Relationship, 5/10; Super Franchise Me, 5/10; Treehouse of Horror XXV, 7/10; Opposites A-Frack, 6/10; Simpsorama, 7/10; Blazed and Confused, 7/10; Covercraft, 5/10; I Won't Be Home for Christmas, 8/10; The Man Who Came To Be Dinner, 7/10; Bart's New Friend, 5/10; The Musk Who Fell to Earth, 3/10;

You do realise they are ACTUALLY called Barbershop Quartets in real life. There is no pun or joke with the "Barbershop" thing. It is simply Homer's Barbershop Quartet, which is what the episode is about.
