When the obsession has to do with a thing, it does suck.

When the obsession has to do with a person, it sucks even more.

A thing is usually better than a person though, since the former isn't a sentient thing. Still it can be pretty dangerous I suppose depending on what it is.

Okay, I may as well list some of my obsessions:

-Locking the door to my room and dancing like crazy to tunes on my smartphone.

-Checking my Facebook chat list to see if the person I really want to talk to is online.

-Streaming the British version of The Office on Netflix. I do that CONSTANTLY.

-A certain girl I knew... you know which one I mean.

    I know. I'm so boring.

The last one is the only REAL obsession.

Suggesting music is more important than finding a person to love, @Dobbie?

I've heard being obsessed with suicide bombing is fun but it's only a short term hobby.

Yeah this is pretty vague in context. An obsession with a person is usually bad but it can also be a good obsession if it makes things better overall. But even then it depends if you're the obsession or the obsessed.

You guys don't know REAL obsessions. The Simpsons is in my mind for about 90% of the day. When I don't post here, I watch the show, read the books, the comics, etc. My life revolves around the Simpsons; everything else is secondary. No, it doesn't suck. I'm as happy as can be.

I don't want to sound as harsh as Handsome but that is a tad creepy. I mean 90% of the time? When you don't post on here, you only participate in Simpsons related activity? No social life or other hobbies? Not to mention, family is important too bud.

I have some other hobbies, but they don't take up as much time as the Simpsons does. And my family respects my Simpsons obsession.

Sure, a partner would be great. My only requirement would be to have nearly as much Simpsons interest as I have.

It's not strange that The Simpsons is your favourite source of entertainment or even interest, it's maybe got to the strange level when you stated that it approximately occupies 90% of your thoughts every day.

Well, I'd say that actual Simpsons activity (e.g. watching it, boarding here, reading comics) is actually closer to 70%. But the amount it is actually on my mind is around 90%. Is that better?

Marginally. Honestly it's all good, better being obsessed with The Simpsons than many things in life.
