I am eager to see Les Misérables too, as a fan of musical theatre. I hope they don't botch it.

    Any James Bond fans here?

i try to go to movies once a week, or at the very least, once/twice a month. nothing really looks good right now, plus i don't have much money so why waste it just to see a movie i know nothing about.

The first Bond movie I ever saw was Skyfall, and I did like it, so I now really want to see what the older ones are like.

I'd probably go more often if I lived on my own and had the money.

It's a Wonderful Life is on NBC right now. Great movie, must've seen it minimum 5 times in full throughout my life. I probably won't watch all of it tonight, but I was still glued to the screen just now during the scene where George saves the pharmacist from giving the poisoned medicine.

I just discovered something to brighten your holidays. They made a second Christmas Story.

Doesn't that just warm you heart about the Christmas season. In fact it was so good, it almost sucked all the soul and life of Christmas out of me, it was that good. HABLABLABLABLA this movie sucks.
Just because I'm stupider than them, they think they're smarter than me!

Here's the right thread to put this in:

Got back from the movie. It was actually pretty good, and I could follow it for the most part. I didn't care for  Pi lying to the people after they didn't believe his story; I'd rather have him keep trying to get them to belive the truth.  (Yeah, you heard me. Make the connection yourself.)

Well I think they want you to  decide on your own which story you thought was correct. They probably didn't want to have the character insist that one certain story was correct, because it would take away the mystery they were trying to create. I don't think they communicate that part very well in the movie, but that's what they were trying to do, at least.

    Great idea for a thread.

I haven't seen Life of Pi yet.

Is there any news on the Party Down movie due next year?

I just watched "The Green Mile" for the first time. I think it belongs in my top 5 all times now.

I watched "The X Files: I want to believe" last night. Billy Connolly is surprisingly good in it.
    How to remaster

That's easily one of my all-time favorite movies.
Have any of you seen Dinner for Schmucks yet?

    No. How bad is it?

  32. #26

It's actually really good, one of my favorite movies. The humor is goofy and sometimes over-the-top, but the characters work really well together. I love it probably just because it's a screwball comedy, and nobody does those anymore. Check it out sometime.

Sometime this week I'll have to watch Airplane! again.

Oh, I'll give anything a go so I'll definitely watch it sometime. I love Airplane!

Does Zach Galifianakis play the same sort of character he plays in The Hangover or does he change it up a bit for Dinner for Schmucks?

  34. #28

In The Hangover, he's a goofy teddy bear. In Dinner For Schmucks, he's a nutcase who thinks he can read minds, so he does change it up a bit. Good thing you're like me, you'll give anything a go. I doubt anyone here as seen My Cousin Vinny or Throw Momma From the Train, both very funny movies.

Yeah, I'm a bit of a cinephile. I'll give anything a go and watch it from start to finish.

Then again, from the sounds of things I think I'd rather watch my own birth than consume That's My Boy.

  36. #30

I don't really want to watch that. The premise sounded cool, then after seeing the trailer it looked really stupid.
