I always think of that scene in HOMR when I think of Bill Paxton or Bill Pullman.

I especially enjoyed him in Weird Science.

I just watched Iron Man 2 last night since I hadn't seen it since it first came out in theaters. I don't get why so many people hate it. I thought it was pretty good! I mean, it's not without it's flaws, but I don't think it deserves all the bashing. Most of that bashing seems to be people complaining that it's all build up to The Avengers. How? Nick Fury doesn't show up into a hour in, and even then, his presence is minimal. I mean, sure, Black Widow having tons of screen time is kind of distracting, but come on. And then there's Whiplash and Justin Hammer. Whiplash is pretty damn cool. I mean, he's not a better villain than Iron Monger was in Iron Man, but still.

Justin Hammer is one of those characters that doesn't seem like he's gonna end up playing much of a role at first, but he does. He's a decent enough character. I like the idea of Tony having a rival, somebody trying to take away his glory. I also like the dicky, personality he has. His character just seems too cliched for me, however.

Iron Man 2 is not the best Marvel movie (obviously), but it's definitely not the worst. Maybe if people would stop critiquing every single thing and enjoy it for it is, which is a nice little action flick, I think more people would enjoy it. It's worth a watch. It's good enough for a couple of laughs and some cool action scenes here and there. If you're one of those people who decided to never see it, I say give it a watch. It's worth at least that.

Iron Man 2 was a pretty good movie. I saw it on release day, but I haven't seen it since.

I actually like both Iron Man movies almost the same (with the first one being superior)

But both of them to me suffer from relatively weak final fight scenes.

Hopefully the new one does better in that department.

Apparently, Joss Whedon was blown away by the climax. He was quoted as saying, "Now what am I supposed to do? What am I supposed to do in Avengers 2?"

  8. #217

Well they saved his number one nemesis for this installment so I expect a great final fight scene.

Oh, well no. I was sort of just posting a thought in my head.

Hopefully it's better than the second. Personally, I didn't like it.

I liked the 2nd movie but obviously it wasn't as good as the first one.
    And the avengers was awesome.

More info keeps coming in everyday about the new Ninja Turtle movie. I've been kind of skeptical, but now it's been leaked that Will Arnett is playing   Vernon . See for yourself:

I probably shouldn't even be saying this, but there's a pretty damn good possibility that I'll have some top secret Avengers 2 info come Monday. My dentist's nephew is an executive producer (apparently, he's out location-scouting now), and she's gonna try to get some info this weekend for me.

I haven't heard about this film. Who is Vernon? And I hope the Turtles aren't made in crappy looking CGI. And will anyone from the Nick series be providing the voices?

Too bad no one I know will be interested in going to see this. If reviews are good, I'll go by myself one day over the summer.

It's live action like the old TMNT movies. It's being directed by Michael Bay and Megan Fox is playing April...

He was April's cameraman in the old 80's cartoon:

And I'm not really sure about the voices. But the turtles will be done in motion-capture, so there's that.

Well, I can guarantee lots of little kids who watch the Nick series will want to see this, and they'll be confused by it following the '87 version. And Megan Fox as April? Fox is a good actress but she just doesn't look the part. There should be a redheaded actress...actually Mae Whitman, who voices her in the series, would be better suited for the role in my opinion.

Casting Megan as April I think is horrible. But I read that Michael Bay is no longer going to make the Ninja Turtles 'aliens' because of the backlash. Might not be true, but I sure as hell hope it is.

That's a bit of a relief, I guess. I still don't have high hopes for this one.

I'm glad you dig Eternal Sunshine, @Frightened Inmate No. 2. It's one of those films that made me fall in love with cinema.
