Tammy is red hot atm and still a bargain. Think he's good for 25 goals this season

@skully the poltergeist and it continues: Haringey Borough players walk off in FA Cup tie vs. Yeovil due to racist abuse.

That's shocking, Yeovil are pretty local to me. Shows that we've got a long way to go in England too, things definitely seem to be regressing at the moment.

    Not surprised. Feckless.

Are you happy that Matt Mills is gone or do you think it was the wrong decision? I wish I could watch more of the Football League but where I'm from are Premier League snobs! I did watch the Friday opener between Cardiff and Huddersfield last week via a stream!

Yes, it has to be Virgil. Although, knowing how biased this award is to goalscorers and assisters...

50 goals in 2019, and if Barca had a defence and a competent manager he'd have a CL winners medal too.

It's way too heavily weighted towards goalscorers imo. Yes Messi is an obscene talent but it wasn't an overly significant year for him. Obviously he scored a shit ton of goals but he's also playing in a very mediocre league (with the exception of Real and Athletico). In fact it was something of a failure.. once again he didn't deliver on the international stage and for the 5th year running Barca didn't make the Champions League Final. Winning La Liga isn't much of an achievement when its been a two horse race for decades.

Van Dijk won the Champions League, was runner up in the Prem and Nations League and was basically unplayable. There was some crazy stat about the amount of minutes he went without someone managing to take him on. I know you hate Liverpool but it really should have his.

In my opinion, Messi has had a brilliant year but him and Ronaldo have normalised a ridiculous level of brilliance so it doesn't get the hype it should. Again, as great as van Dijk has been if Messi was in teams that weren't almost entirely dependent upon him to perform he would have a lot more to show for 2019.

That said, I still wouldn't have argued with van Dijk winning I just don't think Messi winning is a disgrace.

Here's the calendar stats for 2019:

    Most goals: Lewandowski
    Most assists: Muller
    Most NT/UEFA goals: Ronaldo
    Most club goals: Lewandowski
    C. America winner: Brazil
    C. America Player of the Tournament: Alves
    CL winner: Liverpool
CL Player of the Tournament: Van Dijk

Feels to me that they gave it to him simply because he's Messi and not because he did anything of particular significance in 2019. Obviously he's godlike but there's a wealth of players who had a better year than him. Ultimately it probably came down to the fact that defending isn't as glamorous as goalscoring.

It's not a huge deal but does feel somewhat undeserved. And a shame for Virgil since I think he'll struggle to emulate that insane form again.

Plus there was probably a ton of votes for Messi, simply to move him ahead of Ronaldo's Ballon D'Or haul of 5

I'd fancy Spurs to get top 4 instead of Chelsea now with Mourinho. Don't know how this game will go though, cause it's hard to know what game plans the two teams will use

I was really frustrated after what happened but bringing Mourinho gave me some fresh air.
I pity the last match against United though.
