Leafeon was awesome. Very cute design and learns some killer moves.

    My favorite Eeveelution is Leafeon

    I'd rank them as such:

    Leafeon
    Espeon
    Vaporeon
    Umbreon
    Jolteon
    Glaceon
    Flareon

Honestly, the Eeveelutions are all pretty much the same to me. I'd probably put Jolteon at the top because I like Electric types, but the rest can go in any order.

I'd say the most useful two are Leafeon and Espeon personally. Espeon is probably more useful even honestly.

I definitely prefer the green blob thing to the goth-lolita counterpart. The other two are meh design wise...

My Pidgey, which I captured at level 18 in the wilderness, has just cleaned up the Celadon Gym without hassle. t's now a level 29 Pidgeotto!

So that's 5 spots now taken on my team. That electric/fire-type shall take up my 6th member. A bit annoyed as I wanted Arbok to learn Psychic but it can't (It can in Stadium!). I wanted it to learn a powerful poison move and a psychic attack with Dig and Attract. That would have made my Arbok a poison/ground/psychic/whore-type!

Nope, it is Unova and I only own Soul Silver so we can't battle. If you have a Gen. 4 game though...

So my Typhlosion knows Solar Beam but I'm thinking it wasn't the best move to give him. What should I replace it with? It already has Earthquake and Flamethrower. Anyone?

Solar Beam is fine if you play it with Sunny Day. :s
But you can try Focus Blast...

I wasn't planning on playing it with Sunny Day. Focus Blast huh? Is that physical? My Typhlosion is more powerful at Special attacks

Hmmm...I don't even know why I asked since Earthquake is physical anyway. I might just teach it that then!

It's a powerful move, but not too accurate. It is a pretty good option, though.

    Don't you have Overheat?

Well, he said it already has Flamethrower. You usually shouldn't have more than one damage-dealing move of a certain type.

Ah, but I think Overheat is better than Flamethrower but if you need PP I suppose it's not really worth it (unless you have another Pokemon that can learn that technique in your party?)

It's better for sheer power, but it has a serious drawback, isn't quite as accurate, and, as mentioned, low PP.

Overheat isn't as good as Flamethrower due to its low PP and drawback.

OK, I'm getting this game now someway or another! Although hopefully Koga and Giovanni will take their rightful place again. Albeit I hope Gary Motherfucking Oak appears, how epic that would be!

Yeah, as others have said, Flamethrower over Overheat. Power ain't everything.

That depends...sometimes power on one Pokemon can be good, especially it doesn't have any good attacking moves.

But drawback moves aren't well thought of in the first place, understandable really!

    I go all offensive.
I level up my team so they can handle anything.

I tend to go: Powerful type-move reletaed to the type-Pokemon, attack that enhances/defensive (i.e: Double Team, Harden, Sand-Attack,etc.), an attack that gives an status condition (attract, poison, paralysis, sleep, etc.) and the fourth move is vacant, I try to determine which move would improve my team/Pokemon with that fourth spot.

I generally designate one Pokémon to be the annoyer, teaching it a move that either poisons or paralyzes, Attract, a move that causes confusion (ideally Confuse Ray, even though not enough Pokémon learn it, so I usually go for Swagger/Flatter and hope for the best), and then a powerful attacking move.

You need at least one tank, one physical sweeper, one special sweeper, and one status heavy member to have a strong team. IMO, teaching moves super effective against your type weakness is also a great strategy if you have speed on your side. That was why I gave Typhlosion Solar Beam initially, would kill most Water or Ground types which are Typhlosion's primary weaknesses, but the fact that it takes 2 moves without Sunny Day is more of a drawback than I thought it would be...

Just teach it Sunny Day. What's your Typhlosion's current moveset?
