That's great to hear! I forgot I had put so much time into making such a list, but I do really love the series and I'm always happy to get others to watch it. I'll admit, at first the show stumbled a bit as they tried to target a younger demographic and told the story out of sequence. But once they started telling chronological stories with multi-part arcs and went a bit darker, things really clicked.

Heroes on Both Sides struck the perfect balance of politics in Star Wars and is something I hope we see in future movies. Also yes, the Onderon stuff is must see before Rogue One. Did you happen to see the Saw episodes from Rebels? They serve as a nice transition between TCW and RO, and Saw is likely to show up in Rebels season 4 with more of a weathered look.

Same. It took me a long time to attempt getting into the show because I thought (and still think) the theatrical pilot movie is a godawful mess only topped by AotC as worst movie in the franchise, and the handful of super early episodes I caught parts of did seem kind of juvenile (doesn't help that one of those first ones I saw on in the background was one of those early Jar Jar ones). I'm really glad I gave it a proper watch though because it really does become downright amazing before too long and arguably more mature in some ways than most of the movies. It's become one of those shows where everyone scoffs at it because they assume it's for a much younger target audience or are turned off because it's in the PT era, and then if I'm actually able to get them to watch it, they love it.

I'd also add that some people compare TCW to the 2D animated show (or get it confused with that).

Honestly, I'm also tired of people bitching about Disney cancelling TCW and putting on Rebels because usually it's complaints that Rebels isn't "dark enough" or "is for kids only" or the animation looks shitty (sorry it doesn't have the 1 million dollars per episode budget that TCW did?). As far as it being not dark, I find that kind of an odd complaint when you consider that it's had a young and likeable orphan move gradually towards the dark side via opening up a holocron of evil, being tutored by Darth Maul, and casually killing enemy combatants with the Force like it's no big deal.

I think the people complaining about that forgot that TCW had stuff in its early seasons like "Bombad Jedi" or the pilot movie that were pretty light and cartoony, and even occasional stuff later like "Nomad Droids". People probably just need to give it some time.

Not yet, I'm catching up where I left off in season 1.

So we got some The Clone Wars discussion here? That's nice since I really do like that series (and Rebels grew on me so I like it too; the first season was a bit rocky but towards the end it really improved and with Season 2 it found itself. It's a perfectly good sequel and implements stuff and characters from TCW pretty well).

    1. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
    2. Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
    3. Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
    4. Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
    5. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
    6. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

Any others I'm forgetting? I think that is it.

Just gonna throw these main series lists out there:

    Personal preference:

    1. Return of the Jedi
    2. A New Hope
    3. The Empire Strikes Back
    4. The Force Awakens
    5. Revenge of the Sith
    6. The Phantom Menace
    7. Attack of the Clones

    By film quality:

    1. A New Hope
    2. The Empire Strikes Back
    3. The Force Awakens
    4. Return of the Jedi
    5. Revenge of the Sith
    6. Attack of the Clones
    7. The Phantom Menace

Back to the CG shows, anyone else hoping Ahsoka comes to the movie franchise at some point, even if it's a spin-off appearance? Because that'd be sweeeet. Seeing Saw in Rogue One was enough to make me flip out even if his role was pretty minor in TCW, so seeing a returning character we've grown so much with over the years would be just wow.

Subjectively it is wrong. I don't see a problem with someone ranking any prequel in their top 3 (even though I might disagree) so The Force Awakens being missing is the only real issue here (by the way, should one rank Rogue One along the saga films or should it be separate?).

Anyway, as far as Ahsoka coming back goes, yes; it would be nice to see her again & an live-action appearance would be neat (speaking of which, I saw that Rosario Dawson has voiced interest in playing her).

Rogue One is still a pretty dull movie with a pretty neat space battle in the third act.

    Rankings:
    1/2. New Hope/Empire
    3. Force Awakens
    4. Jedi
    5. Rogue One
    6. Sith
    7. Phantom Menace
    8. Attack of the Clones

Also if you list the prequels on top then we get it, you're a contrarian

Mine is a pretty boring list that's not too different from a lot that I see

    The Empire Strikes Back
    A New Hope
    Rogue One
    Return of the Jedi
    The Force Awakens
    Revenge of the Sith
    The Phantom Menace
The Clone Wars [as in, the movie]
    Attack of the Clone

    Mine would probably be

    Empire Strikes Back
    Rogue One
(really surprised that so many people here didn't like this, I honestly though it was one of, if not THE most, emotionally affecting SW film(s), despite its choppy beginning)
    A New Hope
    Return of the Jedi
and The Force Awakens are probably in a tie, but if I had to choose it would probably be Return over TFA.

Ranking the prequels is sort of like shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic, but whatever.
    Revenge of the Sith
    The Phantom Menace
    Attack of the Clones

Still haven't seen The Clone Wars so I don't know where to put that.

Getting a good feeling about The Last Jedi and the Han Solo movie, despite my early skepticism over that last project. It's got a great cast and if they draw on some of the better Han Solo Legends material? Could be really awesome.

force awakens could arguably be the best. its certainly, certainly better than fuckin jedi which is hot garbage and i prefer it to empire a lil bit. new hope is the best storywise but i could be swayed to prefer force awakens to it possibly. its for sure the most well made of the series

jedi was made to appease kids in 1983 or whatever year that was. like it wouldn't be so danged transparent if they hadn't made cartoon shows out of the ewoks immediately afterwards.

the ending to what was probably the biggest film series of all time to that point shouldn't have pandered to kids so much. jedi should have been an epic ending to the series, instead it was a wimper. it's fine, but it really doesn't do anything.

jedi ends th trilogy with a real whimper
    its a shame rly

my biggest complaint is that it rehashes new hope, but then im a hypocrite if i say i liked force awakens

    hmm

force awakens does the rehash right. i object a lil to the starkiller base thing, it is a little pandering but its a hell of a lot more entertaining

it's weird cuz sith is a better ending to the prequel series than jedi is to the original series. and the other two prequel movies are horrible.
