Cool to see an actual clip from the movie, but I hope they won't go overboard and post clip after clip.

Looks like we've secured tickets for the morning of the 19th. Apparently I have a family Christmas party immediately after so that'll be a fun day.

well revenge of the sith is as good as i remembered. in terms of quality it's not far behind return of the jedi imo.

in fact it's probably on par with jedi.

it's the best prequel for what that's worth

certainly not on par with jedi though

I don't think it's close, even with Ewoks involved but yeah it's easily the best of the prequel movies. I am also a person who likes AotC the least.

I actually don't think Attack Of The Clones is that bad. It's boring, but there are some select scenes I like.

Revenge Of The Sith is fantastic, it's actually my third favorite Star Wars movie.

    TFA is PG-13.

    Not that it matters.

Kinda wish it was PG for tradition's sake. Yes, I know Sith was PG-13 :P

I guess the only interesting thing this confirms is that the movie's basically finished now.

the OT existed before PG-13 existed

empire most likely would've been PG-13 nowadays for sure

Pretty much figured it would be PG13. Not surprised at all. It matches the dark tone they're going for with the trailers.

Guarantee the first 2 Back to the Futures would be PG13 if they were re-rated today. Especially 2. This may be why they were never resubmitted to the MPAA for the DVDs and Blu-Rays.

Well, the special edition from 2004 was re-rated and was still given a PG. For what it's worth, I haven't seen the special editions in years, but I don't think there was much toning down with regards to anything that would be a roadblock for the PG.

they censored a lot of violent scenes in a new hope specifically for the 2004 special edition. don't know about empire though. it's like the least changed star wars. only one that makes me actively mad is the cast changes in the emperor and boba fett. i think they're probably all still kinda PG-worthy despite a few 'intense' scenes
PG was basically The Rating before the late 80s and now it's reserved for cartoons that poke fun at pop culture and say a light swear once. before then it was like every movie that wasn't pre hardcore. some movies that were rated PG might even be R today. mpaa's weird man

In anticipation over the premiere, I'm going to watch to watch Star Wars stuff that came out around the time inbetween or shortly after the original trilogy. This includes:

The Star Wars Holiday Special (Looks like an absolute laugh riot, I just gotta see it!)
Droids (An animated spin-off series from the 80's which is about R2-D2 and C3PO)
The two Ewok movies: The Ewok Adventure and The Battle For Endor.
Ewoks (An animated spin-off series which came out around the same time as Droids)

I'm most excited over the holiday special, least excited over Ewoks.

Have any of you guys seen some of these things? What are your thoughts?

The Holiday Special is infamous for being unwatchably bad, but I managed to sit through it on Youtube this year and while it's in no way on par with any of the six movies (even the prequels), I was entertained by how campy and 70's "what the heck am I watching?" trippy it is so I'd say it's in the "so bad it's kindagood" territory; besides, it does have it's moments.

The two Ewok movies I have liked since I first saw them; they are much more magical fantasy than the Star Wars we all know, but it works within the mysterious forest moon setting and they are pretty enjoyable in my opinion; Battle For Endor is definitely the best of the two (it is generally more serious, has a better plot and the character Teek is fun).

The Droids and Ewoks cartoons are entertaining in an retro way and I've watched episodes of both (and they are available on Youtube so they are not hard to find despite the lack of a proper DVD or BD release). Most prefer Droids over Ewoks which is understandable, but the latter has it's share of good episodes (at least in it's first season).

I actually quite like Jar Jar. People just jump on the hating bandwagon. No worse than Ewoks or Chewie...

And as for the new film. Think it will get massive praise (simply for improving on the recent trilogy) that will gradually dwindle as people realise that it's a fairly average blockbuster. Still look forward to seeing it and gives me an excuse to watch the other 6 again.

I'm going by what is said among the online fandom (mainly the TheForce.net forums) and it is clear that people prefer Droids, but there are of course those who are bigger Ewoks fans (including one who created an Ewoks superthread in the TV section of said forums).
