Interesting choice for directors. Wonder if there will be any Sana Solo involved?

His mask inexplicably brings the old Mighty Ducks logo to mind.

Maybe he changed it because he felt that the color red was pretty sharp?

Maybe he got dismantled again and lost his left arm, so he had to replace it with a red one.

I was just gonna ask you guys about what you think of Trevorrow as the director of Ep 9.

I think it's a nice choice. Jurassic World was enjoyable and a lot of fun and I hope he can bring that feel to Star Wars (albeit with more of a plot and character depth), but I can't help getting a bit disenchanted with all these people on various boards and comment sections now shitting on him, JW and saying how terrible of a choice this is and how badly it will turn out.

Kinda like the one between The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi?

I beg to differ, I thought it was an utter drag until the second half. Though I associate the flaws in that movie more with the writing than the direction and, well, he also took part with the writing.

Well, opinions do differ and to be frank, they could have picked a lot worse (and even though I liked JW, I did find flaws and hopefully he'll improve his writing and directing for this project).

Colin Trevorrow is a ridiculous choice. Jurassic World was a very mediocre movie and he hasn't done much else either. At least with Kershner and Marquand you had respected directors.

but it was great as popcorn fodder, NOT in a way that would make trevorrow a proper pick for a star wars trilogy finale.

doesn't mean he can't stick the landing just that he has certainly not proven himself capable. a star wars with the substance of jw would suck.

He brought a series back to life. If he doesn't deserve a chance to do the same with Star Wars I dunno who else does. Who do people want to direct these things?

people with sci-fi film experience or experience in general beyond popcorn flicks would be nice. maybe i'm biased but ideally a star wars film should be at least a couple notches above typical dumb action stuff.

jurassic world is VERY poorly written, the apalling dialogue and the fact that nothing in the story is character driven due to the total lack of development means i cant say it's worth any status above popcorn movie (and i enjoyed it fwiw)

his work on JW didnt show off any real style either. it seemed a very "any SFX director could do it" movie, like something from marvel, where the suits will just ask for X and then they get X with no twist or particular style whatsoever. this choice is definitely most likely based on JW's ridiculous box office intake. i doubt trevorrow will screw up too hard, because it's the 9th movie and there will undoubtedly be suits reigning him in. but yeah, it's not a wholly inspiring choice, because i havent seen anything particularly inspiring fom him.
