Yeah, I'd like to see desert/dry/dirt tiles to cover over grassy land, particularly around Cletus's Farm, the Old Simpson Farm and Shotgun Pete's. It's not like every bit of land on earth is cement or green grass.

I'd also like to have the ability to allow river tiles to built on sand so that the river can flow into the ocean. Why haven't they thought of that?

Yeah, I'm pretty much done with Vegas but I'm curious to see the next update. I remember a few years ago when starting the game some people on the EA Tapped Out message boards proposed a Chili Cook Out-themed event which I always liked. Could be a terrific chance to show off some cool animation.

Also definitely the landscaping options are desperately needed. (and more land)

I'm guessing mid-April... I'd like if it wasn't an event tbh. I know people did detest Springfield Heights but it kept me constantly busy between updates.

Yeah, on my side I need more time because I really run out of lands (plus the many buildings they want you to built), I don't have any space for a desert.

I still recieve notifications about gamblers in my city btw... LOL !

It sucks that you can no longer play those casino games, I was hoping they'd stay permanent like the Maggie mini-game to win some extra money. It was a very fun event though, lots of good prices and not to hard or easy to complete.

I think EA has realized how to bilk customers yet at the same time not frustrate them with the prize-earning aspects of the events. There's multiple layers, and thankfully not everything is tied together. Some are easier than others, and nothing is strictly by pure chance. The best part is the addition of premium items with each act, rather than shoehorning literally every prize into playing the event. It's way more transparent, understandable and makes the game more likable.

We all know that underneath the surface of Tapped Out is the psychological prey of freemium gaming, but there's a way to do it without seeming like the people running it are pricks, and I'm glad they finally found that.

the only thing i really hate about springfield heights is the needing currency to make other currency aspect. i'm fine with something being a long grind, but that's just frustrating to be frustrating and it sucks

Well, it's not the desert-themed update, but a new update just came in based off of 'Crook and Ladder', Moe and Skinner in firemen outfits and the fire department are the rewards for this event, while firemen Homer and Apu are premium skins that are sold together for 100 doughnuts.

I wonder if the desert-themed update will follow after the firefighter one, then it would be true for the update to hit in mid-April. I wonder if it'll be a mini-event aswell, but I'm hoping for a land expansion similiar to Springfield Heights. Though I'm not looking forward to new currency, if EA has listened hard enough then they might try to avoid it. The firefighter mini-event is actually highly requested on the Tapped Out forums, they listened to them atleast.

This mini-event looks decent atleast, I'd love to have a fire department in my town. I bet the mysterious guy setting houses on fire is actually...  Ralph. That pyromaniac leprechaun on his shoulders must've been pushing him

That fire-fighter event looks pretty good actually. We can win three new skins (Ralph recieve a dalmatian skin apparently with the fire departement), one big decoration and a building.

Also, seeing other people's cities burn is very compelling for some reason..

Yeah, it's incredibly easy, there's 9 days over and I'm already at the before last level. Medals are certainly not a problem.

as a twice a day player who doesn't use donuts on character outfits, it certainly seems a bit tough. i'm still trying to get fireman skinner. also, i hate having to hide everything and hunt for those little fires all the time

^ I'm also not one for spending doughnuts on something that just adds to a character just for an event, especially as I've only got 108 or something around that.

Anybody else notice that it has been six months since the last level dropped, and since then they have done the usual big events and micro events?

Makes me wonder if leveling up will be a once or twice a year thing now. Would make sense as new players have 59 levels to get through and several events rely on characters and locations that must be obtained.

maybe these mini-events have taken the place of new levels? i mean, what was the point of new levels other than new questlines, characters, and/or buildings. which these accomplish without having to have reached the highest previous level.

although i guess that would make the XP pretty pointless

They also dropped having new items for friend points as well. With Krustyland, Squidport and Springfield Heights, the stack is extremely thick for new players so it definitely seems like the game is just going to cruise from event to event now.

I like these short level-sized events in place of actual level-ups as much as the next person, though they're really gonna need to find something better to do with XP than giving you three measly donuts for some 3.4 million XP.

Since I finally obtained all the land in Springfield Heights and there isn't a major quest on, I've undergone a major overhaul to my town. All the Vegas stuff is in the NW corner, and will likely sit for a bit before I get to serious work on Heights. I'm moving all my fancy houses and mansions to the north in Heights and plan to also build Springfield Heights Promenade there. I might also make a Towne Centre at Springfield Glenne there as well.

This will move all the fancy stuff north, leaving more room in the south for factories and middle class businesses. I have a very good looking old downtown going, south of the Town Square, and even further south have room for stuff like Lake Springfield and the Murderhorn.

I'm wrestling with moving Burns Manor to Springfield Heights as I like where it is now. I'll likely move that as well, and as such will scrap the whole vegas location and just keep Burns Casino on its own pier.

If you want to see my in progress work, visit my town (BarryNomad) and I'll let you all know once it is in a more finished state.

yeah, i'm trying to just finish getting the fucking billion real estate dollars i need to "finish" SH, then i'm going to look to actually design it. my plan is to also have the fancier stuff there, but only the kind of gaudy "nouveau riche" type stuff (so no burns' manor or anything like that). i put all the caino stuff it would let me onto the pier, but i'm not quite sure what i'm going to do with the rest. i have a sort of casino district, but i don't know if i'm happy with it. to be honest, i kind of regret ever blowing up my town and wish i'd have just reorganized as needed instead of trying to start from scratch. especially now that you can move multiple items at once

I'm not as anal retentive about non-canon/non-Springfield things being in Springfield as other users are, but I have found that by not including them I am able to fit everything in my town with enough breathing room for trees and parking and alleyways and smaller items. Vegas, as cool as it is, will likely go into storage soon.

It is actually kind of surprising how many casinos the game has. Outside the Vegas update, which gave us a TON of casinos, we also have Plato's Republic and the native american casino as well as the dog tracks.

I had a lot of donuts from all the new mini games and challenges so I bought those Fireman costumes for Homer and Apu for the hell of it. Mostly did it because I know I'm not gonna be playing this event too much w/ Miitomo out and I have a convention to go to this weekend which is when I get the bulk of my playing done. I've been putting off buying the Cracker Factory but I know it'll be my next major purchase.

I like how Maggie doesn't give a shit that the house she's sitting on is on fire during her mini-game. Rather play happily with a butterfly.

I think these mini-events so far are intended to replace new levels, and help fill in the gap between events. They must've figured that the game has enough levels for now, but 59 is kind of an odd number to end it with. I hope they don't ditch level updates forever, and they should atleast add new FP prizes which usually came with these updates.

I don't think they have ended levels, but we will likely only see a few per year. They were cranking out 11 per year, but perhaps their analytics told them that they needed to ease off and let players catch up. I can only imagine how annoying it must be to have an event where you have to have certain characters available and you are weeks away from hitting their level.

It's mega messed up that a major publisher made a game where you set churches on fire
