@kupomog I am jelly of your Tengen Tetris

I could play Banjo Kazooie or Tooie any day. Both games are easily in my top 10 of N64 games.

I still have my copies of Banjo Kazooie/Tooie, but I'm not sure how well an N64 would work with a 'modern' TV. I don't have an 360 but my brother does. I'm tempted to buy BK on there.

N64 looks awful on most HDTVs. Using the A/V cables helps marginally over using an RF, but it's still really muddy and blah looking. Especially if it's a game with dark graphics, it's almost impossible to see anything. The 360 versions of the BK games are beautiful, everything is clean and sharp. DO IT

I 100% Banjo-Kazooie back in the day, so just a while back I got Banjo-Tooie off eBay. It's a good game, but it feels quite tedious compared to Banjo-Kazooie. Maybe when I get further in the game it'll grow on me, but right now I'm not feeling it.

I had that feeling about Tooie at first, too. There's just so much more to do in it than Kazooie, and it's impossible to complete any of the worlds without backtracking later. So that's really my only beef with it, is having to go back a lot. Don't quit on it!

Glitter Gulch Mine may be my favorite theme Grant Kirkhope ever composed.

The HailFire Peaks theme in all its incarnations is my favorite. I think the first game is a sentimental favorite but Tooie definitely improves on it. At the same time it is really easy to get overwhelmed as it is just so huge by comparison.

That's a great theme too. Awesome world, too.

What I love about Tooie is that it's pretty much like the second half of one gigantic game. You start with all of the moves you learned in the first game, and the first world of Tooie is bigger than the last world of Kazooie. It's honestly one of the best sequels I've ever played in terms of how well it picks up from the previous game. Plus it kicks ass too.

I read an IGN article today I'm too lazy to find and link to about how former Rare employees have banded together and hope to make a "spiritual successor" to Banjo-Tooie. For some inexplicable reason IGN seems to think it would be an X-BOX exclusive despite the fact that Rare has been just about awful since leaving Nintendo and their third console Banjo game was a disgrace. Of course we are talking about EX-Rare employees and only a successor in spirit not actual characters...so if anything does come of this I would HOPE it would be with Nintendo.

With all that said I kinda miss not playing DK64 at the moment. I know people crap on it for being a collect-a-thon but I loved it. Between it and the Banjo games Rare was so great in the 64 era. We all know why Banjo doesn't get released on the Wii Virtual Console, but you would think they could and should have given us DK64 by now...

I've watched Let's Plays of Conker, all I can say is it seems fine, but I'd take the other 3 Rare ones I mentioned over it any day.

You just need to actually play it and get Brit humo(u)r to fully fall in love with it.

So is that your collection or what you're considering getting? I'm still planning on eventually getting Donkey Kong and the Last Story at least personally...

Super Paper Mario has a lot of reading, but it's fun. Pikmin 2 is great too if you don't already own it. So is the first but the second is better so I'd just get that...unless you already have the Gamecube version of course.

If you have enough money, you might want to get the Metroid Prime trilogy. It has the 2 GameCube games and the 3rd one with lots of good use of the Wii. You might also want Zack and Wiki for a lot of puzzles to play with, or if you don't have the HD version, Resident Evil 4 would be a fantastic horror game.

Just go with Pikmin 2 then. Both it and Super Paper Mario are 20 bucks new. The original Paper Mario is available via Virtual Console though if you've never played it I'd HIGHLY recommend it over Super.

Oh you live in England! Well prices and availability may vary of course.

Your Wii collection is actually very similar to my own though, just swap out a couple games with one or two I own of course....

if you like Smash Bros. i'd suggest get Melee. It's utterly addictive and one of my favourite games. It is GameCube but most Wiis are backwards compatible
