I liked the episode in which he kept missing the bus again and again.

    That's it.

Once upon a time six years ago, it was appealing to all audiences. Flash forward to the post-movie revival. Something happened that it totally lost its appeal to anyone older than nine and became more "staged" than ever. I don't care to go in depth because I truly don't care. But SpongeBob SquarePants is an example of why sometimes we can feel at ease for a good series ending early instead of pondering what happened if it continued. RIP.

What do you think they put in the Bug Juice?
    Bugs?
No they don't. Come on...shut up.

First few seasons were golden. The show went downhill fast when Stephen Hillenberg left

as a kid it was one of my favorite shows.

started to decrease in quality a little around 2006 or 7.

i haven't seen a new episode since sometime in 2009. I'm probably done with the show as a whole

It used to be a pretty goddamned hilarious show. My favorite moment ever is when SpongeBob and Patrick are going apeshit looking for a light bulb, and Patrick runs into a room that happens to have a MOUNTAIN of light bulbs, and then proceeds to climb the mountain in order to reach the light bulb that's actually screwed into the ceiling fixture. Makes me laugh like crazy.

The movie is pretty hilarious too. That David Hasselhoff cameo ... just God, so absurdly funny.

Favorite moment has to be when a battered Spongebob hangs onto his boat for dear life having just suffered giant clams and cheese graters

Spongebob: Nothing will stop me! Not even......EDUCATIONAL TELEVISION! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Makes me laugh so damn hard every time

Currently the only good thing left on Nickelodeon.

The post-movie episodes aren't as great as the pre-movie ones. Even without the fact that Rugrats did far worse in its post-movie era, SpongeBob's latest episodes are still pretty good. Some include the one where Patrick writes a song, the one where he becomes smarter, and the one where everyone abandons SpongeBob in Bikini Bottom.

if you think that anything other than chocolate with nuts is the funniest episode, you're wrong. band geeks might be my favourite though.

and yeah, I think the post-movie stuff is pretty unwatchable.

A very good show. I don't think the post-movie episodes are that bad. I run a SpongeBob forum, but we don't talk much about the show. xD I doubt I'm allowed to post the link here, but if anyone wants it they can PM me or give me a visitor's message, I guess.

I enjoy the show as well. I'm also an admin on our popular SB site.

The seasons prior to the movie are the gems. The season after gradually gets worse, but there are some decent episodes in the mix.

Its quality is like a roller coaster ride - it started out good, spent the next few seasons going uphill, then it rapidly went downhill. Now it's slowly going uphill again.

yeah the series after the movie is unwatchable but you can't take that away from all the greatest it had (much like the simpsons). if the first movie was the series finale, it would have been a fantastic run.

Good show, I wouldn't buy any of it on DVD but watch it when it's on TV

I think the show should have ended with the movie in 2004, it hasn't been the same since. If I do watch a SB episode it's from the first 3 or 4 seasons, nothing really beyond that.
Jimbo Jones: [about Homer] I hear that guy's ass has it's own congressman!
Bart Simpson: I wash myself with a rag on a stick.
Homer Simpson: [takes cap out of dryer and puts it on his head] Mmmmm... I CAN feel three types of softness.
Lisa Simpson: [from upstairs] Dad, what are you doing down there?
Homer Simpson: Washing my fat guy's hat honey!
