So..What happened to Looney Tunes on CN?

They did a marathon on New Years Day.. But haven't aired at all since then.

Checking the Guide on my cable box..Doesn't look like they'll be on at all next week.

    Nothing on Boomerang either.

    What's the deal?
"Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the object worship of the state. It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, what they are to work at, where they may go and what they may say. Socialism is an attack on the right to breathe freely. No socialist system can be established without a political police. They would have to fall back on some form of Gestapo, no doubt very humanely directed in the first instance."

They also weren't on the week before or after x-mas - which is understandable - so CN can air more holiday/x-mas programming.

I figured it was coming back when they did the New Years marathon..but here we are a couple weeks later, still nothing.

Maybe it wasn't getting the job done ratings/cost-wise?

I still expect it to come back soon, just a little worried/frustrated with it's handling.

they really butchered those poor cartoons anyway, and every time i actually did catch it they were playing the same ones, "Whats Opera Doc?" and the Michigan J Frog one

It's probably because TTG has been taking up 99% lately because it's their "cash cow". This leaves barely any room for other shows to air.

I know a lot of people are divided by it, but honestly, I thought the Looney Tunes show was great and a lot of fun to watch. It's a shame it only lasted two seasons, since I felt like it was getting better by the second season and could have been even better if it had kept going.

Seeing this thread me remember about the Wabbit cartoon, which I haven't thought about in a long time. Like, what happened to that show?! It and Be Cool Scooby Doo came out at the same time and were both ok, but then they suddenly disappeared from the network. I guess in between airing Teen Titans Go twelve hours a day on Cartoon Network and showing constant re-runs of the Powerpuff Girls reboot (which is only a year old at this point), there's just no time for any other cartoons on both channels anymore. It's especially disappointing because they announced that Daffy Duck was going to show up in Wabbit with a personality similar to his original one from his first appearances, but then they just stopped showing the series.

I enjoyed both The Looney Tunes Show and Wabbit. One was a radically different but still very smart and funny way to establish these international treasures into a modern setting without it being forced.

The other was a fun tribute to the roots of these characters and much like Alpha, I was very disappointed to learn that my favourite incarnation of Daffy would return will no longer be happening.

As much as I liked TTG to start with, I think it's gotten very stale now and far too big for it's boots. The fact that CN seem to favour it over other things that are clearly better is a sad one, but if it's what the kids and phrat-bros want.....

Ah well, at least Nickelodeon still have quality.

Wabbit was actually rebranded to New Looney Tunes, and it along with Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! I think are now exclusive to Boomerang's streaming services, though some ToonZoners and Bryan Alford of NickAndMore on twitter said something about new Wabbit episodes actually airing in the graveyard on Boom as part of the Looney Tunes package.

I haven't seen Wabbit yet, nor did I ever finish The Looney Tunes Show. The latter was certainly different from what I'd seen before, but "different" doesn't mean "bad". I did like it and would love to finish it.

I saw a few bits of Wabbit. The key to the Looney Tunes cartoons was its perfect timing in its humor and animation, and Wabbit couldn't really nail that. It tries, but there's a bunch of little things that just keeps me from really enjoying it. Like, every time the characters impact something for a slap slick or pops out of a door, it feels way too gradual and soft when it should be extremely forceful and hard-hitting. They had the same problem with the fight scenes in the Powerpuff Girls reboot, the action all felt so tame.

I've seen the show quite a bit on Boomeang, though it's mostly been re-runs. As far as new episodes go, nada. Looney Tunes shows tend to fall into this pit quite a bit, actually. The last episode of the Looney Tunes show, "SuperRabbit", aired almost a year after the rest of the show had come and gone, a pond to little fan-fare. Either they've lost interest in the whole thing, are working on a new season, or have it lost in a sea of Teen Titans Go.

It's a shame, too. I was actually growing quite fond of it, myself.

EDIT: Just found it on the Boomerang app under "New Looney Tunes." That title's more fitting at least, seeing as Elmer Fudd doesn't even show up. "Wabbit" makes no sense in that regard.

@Nicky Actually, Wikipedia lists the Daffy Duck episode as an upcoming one for Season 1, and they already released a clip for it months ago, so it does exist and has already been produced, they just haven't aired it yet for whatever reason.

@BlueRibbonCommittee I didn't know about the Boomerang streaming service, but it sounds kind of dumb that their just dumping Wabbit/New Looney Tunes and Be Cool Scooby Doo onto online streaming only.Their not even airing reruns of those shows anymore on Cartoon Network, and really, how messed up is Cartoon Network that they won't even air new episodes of Scooby Doo anymore?

@NHC's Resident Bart Actually, according to the episode list on Wikipedia, Elmer Fudd will appear in one of the upcoming unaired episodes. To me, it sounds it look it could be an interesting episode, and I would certainly watch it, just to see what they do with Elmer, since he seems to one of the few Looney Tunes characters that nobody at Warner Bros really knows what to do with anymore. Even the Looney Tunes Show didn't do anything with him, I think he was an anchorman on that show or something, so he never interacted with the cast and was just a glorified extra. The only things I can remember him doing on that show was him playing Lex Luthor in the Superman parody episode, and that time he sang a song about grilled cheese sandwiches.

I had heard of the streaming service, mostly just from frequenting ToonZone and NickAndMore's twitter. And I'm not sure if I'd call it dumb or just a sign of the changing times.

And yeah, a Scooby-less Cartoon Network. Never thought I'd see the day. Then again, before Summer 2012 (I think) I didn't think they'd ever dump classic Tom and Jerry. Times really are changing.
