So many amazing classics, but THOH IV is the best THOH, so it deserves my vote.

9F22, "Cape Feare". I'm a huge Sideshow Bob fan, and I loved this episode from what I remember. (I only saw it once, a year and a half ago.) Best moments to me were HMS Pinafore, the parade crushing Bob, the infamous "rake scene", the Thompsons knockoff opening, Homer getting his new name, and the Simpsons' security system.

WIGGUM: Ah, it doesn't work if you invite the guy in.
    HOMER: Oh.
    FLANDERS: Hidilyho!
    HOMER: Go home.
    FLANDERS: Toodilyoo!

    Classic.

I'll have to go with Rosebud. Great Mr. Burns episode.

"Cape Feare", all the way. It's the best Sideshow Bob episode, hands-down. The rake scene has a special place in my heart.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for Cape Feare.

Too bad that, like Wavy Gravy, I've only seen it once, and that was over a year ago. Damn syndicators.
Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?

    "Homer's Barershop Quartet"
followed by "Rosebud", then "Vigilante", then "Cape Fear". They're all good.

    (from "Rosebud)
HOMER: Maggie, get that mouldy old bear out of the way! (gasp) Mouldy? Old? I'm going to get something to eat!

classic, even though i didn't vote for that episode.

Uh, this one is difficult. I have to go with "Boy-scouz N The Hood" 'cause of the great squishee trip. "Cape Feare" and "Homer The Vigilate" would come next in my list.

Oh, and I *love* this particular scene from "Homer The Vigilate": :lisa:

Lots of goodies here, but I'll stick with my pattern of voting for the THOH episodes which are always THE BEST.

Don't worry. My local FOX 64 station should show it again soon. They're going in p-code order and they're already up to 9F05.

Was that Hallo special the one with "The Shining"? Season 5, even though not the best, was probably the funniest season, and "Cape Feare" is it's funniest episode. It's a brilliant parody of thrillers, Gilbert and Sullivan, "Night of the Hunter", Hitchcock, police stupidity, and the FBI. Some great moments include: The Rake Scene, the beginning where Bart is suspicious of everyone, Martin as Lizzie Borden, the H.M.S Pinafore, Homer with the hockey mask, "Put em' away, toys", and the Thompsons opening. It is all topped by a brilliant performance by Kelsey Grammar. "Rosebud", "Marge on the Lam", "Homer Goes to College", "Boy Scoutz n the Hood", "Homer's Barbershop Quartet", "The Last Temptation of Homer", and "Homer the Vigilante" are all great eps, though.

I voted for Cape Feare because it is one of my favorite episodes.

"Bart do you want to see my new chainsaw and hockey mask"
my fave part of the episode
"Oh my great good god, gentlemen your attention please, I am detecting a gigantic amphibious life form, It's eighty meters long and is heading right this way, oh good glayvin it's on my shoe, it's a small frog, just get off, get off, get out, get out! Stupid machine, oh this isn't the monsterometer, it's the frog exaggerator."

I couldn't decide at first they are all great episodes. Most of these episodes deserve to be the best ever. In the end I voted for Homer's Barbershop Quartet. But everything else is tied for a close second.

It was tough choosing between Cape Fear and Treehouse of Horror IV. Cape Fear was awesome, with ingenious use of slapstick humor, great Sideshow Bob performance, and even a little suspense.

Homer Goes to College was the one episode on the list that I didn't like. It was the first episode in the series where Homer really got on my nerves, acting very psycho. The episode is a bit pointless and weird, for early season standards.

$pringfield has always held a special place in my heart, though the rest of the episodes are really good, too.
