I like this episode. It's by no means perfect but I really enjoy it. The musical numbers are actually very memorable and well done and the humour was decent.

Pros: Funny (my favourite moment was Skinner with the men who were looking to beat him up), catchy songs, good characterisations, especially of Lisa, interesting plot.

Cons: Rushed ending, Homer was a bit too crazy at points (at the dinner table for example). Also this might sound weird but watching this episode, it doesn't feel real. I dunno... it's not really much of a con because it doesn't bother me too much but this episode almost feels like it didn't happen because it was a musical number and perhaps a bit "extravagant" or over the top (Willie literally towing away the art department, Skinner suddenly sending Lisa to another school). Probably makes no sense but whatever.

    In conclusion, good.

    B

I'm a sucker for musical numbers, and the songs here are generally pretty catchy. 4/5.

Terrible episode. All of the characters are aggravating and Skinner is reduced to a mere strawman. This episode has the worst songs in the series. 1/5

Excellent episode! The plot was good, songs were good, voice acting was good. It was fun to see Lisa with normal hair. 5/5

I still like this episode. Homer's over-the-top nature in this episode was weirdly refreshing and the songs were, again, catchy. Has some genuinely good jokes too.

This is probably the only good musical episode the Simpsons has done (depending on what you call a musical episode). It also happens to be the one with the best songs, IMO. I think the ending is a bit disappointing, though (that is, Lisa can't go to the magnet school just because Homer doesn't want to drive her. But why can't she take the bus? Surely they could have found a better reason to bring her back to Springfield Elementary. For example, in the next scene, it is revealed Springfield Elementary found a way to restore art, music, and gym anyway. Maybe Lisa could have thought of a way and used the strike as leverage to get Principal Skinner to agree to it). Anyway, this is still a good episode overall. 6/10

Top-notch episode. Musical numbers were very well done. My favorite part had to be Willie imitating Milhouse.
"Look at me! I'm Milhouse! I've tucked me shirt into me underpants!"
"I've got no friends, so I confide in Willie!"
Despite re-using the strike storyline, the episode didn't imitate "Last Exit to Springfield" too much, which is good. Resolution was a bit hasty, but I was okay with that because that meant more time for the body of the episode, which had a nice pace and didn't rush.
For those of you who think "modern Simpsons suck," remember that occasionally gems like this appear that make the meh episodes in between worth it. 9.5/10

Another great season 15 outing, not the best of the series but still extremely enjoyable, great songs, very funny and a good plot, the ending was pretty bad but otherwise i dont have any real complaints with this episode. Grade: A-

This episode was alright and had some pretty good songs to go with it, although the ending seemed pretty rushed. 3/5

not long after I saw this episode I did see a bit of the movie version of Evita

but man sometimes I even wonder about all those budget cuts at that school what the hell are they REALLY spending that money on (heck on comic had the teachers blowing money on a hot tub in the staff room)

I'm surprised there hasn't been a watchmojo list stating top ten fictioal schools we're glad we never went to.....Springfield Elementary would be #1...oh wait I think they did do something like this already except it was positive (seriously do you know how many times the simpsons have charted at the top of a watchmojo countdown) other than that I kind of like the episode. season 15 still had better episodes than 17 though.
