Family has been talking about investing while the stock market is down. Their financial advisor recommended them some variable annuities, but every person online Ive read about seems to hate them (high fees, low interest rates). Best options I can see right now is just opening a brokerage account and buying stocks directly, or opening a Roth IRA for retirement moneys. I think...I genuinely know jack shit about this. And theyre going to spend the money regardless, so why bother learning.
