No terrible episodes, however some were stronger/weaker than others. Pretty consistantly forgetable, boing throughout, but overall it was alright, not the worst season, but far from the best too.

I haven't reviewed Crystal Blue-Haired Persuasion yet, I wait to rewatch it to do so, but overall, I'd say it's a pretty unremarkable season. Not that bad, there's still some funny, well-written and well-thought out stuff, but I think nothing really stands out (in a good or a bad way) in this season. It's a generic HD season of this show, per say, with good things alongside bad things, with average to decent episodes for the most part, and overall pretty bland and forgettable. And please, writers, for the next two seasons, go slow with songs this time.

For my ranking, with the following color code :

    4/5 or more - 3.5/5 - 3/5 - 2.5 to 2/5 - 1.5/5 or less

    Daddicus Finch
    Bart vs. Itchy & Scratchy
    Girl’s in the Band

Baby You Can’t Drive My Car
I’m Dancing as Fat as I Can
    Woo-hoo Dunnit?
    Bart’s Not Dead
    From Russia Without Love

    101 Mitigations
    E My Sports
    Krusty the Clown
    Werking Mom
My Way or the Highway to Heaven

    Crystal Blue-Haired Persuasion
    Mad About the Toy
    Heartbreak Hotel
    D’oh Canada
    ‘Tis the 30th Season
    Treehouse of Horror XXIX

    The Girl on the Bus
    I’m Just a Girl Who Can’t Say D’oh
I Want You (She’s So Heavy)
The Clown Stays in the Picture

Daddicus Finch was the actual worst episode ever, Werking Mom was likewise an offensive trainwreck. There was also that TERFy 2 years late lady Ghostbusters take off, and pretty much everything else was too boring to recall. Still chortling at "Odder Stuff", and that Disney merger vid that gave Darth Vader a yellow lightsaber for some reason, and oh yeah the episode where Marge and Homer were dating in 1987 and the episode where Mr. Largo was class of 1999 and ok I guess I remember shit, but only cuz it was outrageously bad

    WORST! SEASON! EVER!!!!!

The season wasn't bad but I still found it to be disappointing. Season 29 was pretty good by modern Simpsons standards and had around ten episodes I gave a full 4/5 (which is not common) and it left me hoping and wishing that the following season would be a step up since they showed some good progress, but for the most part it didn't deliver to that much of an full extent which let me down, especially since there was a lot of good and interesting premises here (some of which were pulled off fairly well all things considered, even if the episode wasn't great in my opinion, such as 'I'm Dancing as Fat as I Can' and 'E My Sports').

It was mostly dominated by the common average and/or just okay episodes in the 3/5 range, had a bunch that were 2/5 tier and not very good at all ('The Clown Stays In The Picture', 'I Want You (She’s So Heavy)' & 'I'm Just a Girl Who Can't Say D'oh' were the worst ones) and there was relatively few quite good episodes to me, maybe around just four or five which was a bummer ('Baby You Can't Drive My Car', 'Daddicus Finch', '101 Mitigations', 'Girl’s In The Band' & 'Wohoo Dunnit?' stood out the most), but on the plus side there wasn't any episode that annoyed or irritated me enough to make it bottom material worthy of straight 1/5s; the worst episodes were mostly just blandly, run of the mill bad and not too awful like something such as like 'Dad Behavior' or 'The Caper Chase') so that's a plus (maybe it's just me being jaded with modern Simpsons and being picky when it comes to finding truly dreadful episodes; it has to take a lot to make one that bad to me).

There was unfortunately also a lot of repetition with episodes reusing elements from previous ones, both from the classic era and afterwards, and sometimes to the point of just feeling too unoriginal (I'm thinking of the likes of 'Tis The 30th Season' and 'Girl On The Bus') and a bit too many forced Homer-Marge marriage crisises that didn't do anything really new or interesting (though at least one or two of them felt a little different so that's good; also liked them cooperating in 'Baby You Can't Drive My Car'). While it was certainly weaker than last season it was still better than season 28 which was one of the worst seasons of the HD era and I think that it had an good and interesting bunch of stories and even though not all of them worked perfectly I found the majority fine and enjoyable for what they were.

So overall it wasn't a great season and ended up lesser than I had hoped (which made me think all the good and very enjoyable episodes in season 29 was a fluke) but it generated enough interest and enjoyability with several fairly good stories (even when the end result could've been better) to make me decide it was decent. I'll have to hope that the next season will be a step-up.

I'll also leave with my complete rankings (I noticed I had used a lot of half points and rounded up & down so I got rid of those that got left over, settling for nice, clean grades that I feel is best for the episodes in my opinion).

    4/5
Baby You Can't Drive My Car - 4/5
From Russia Without Love - 4/5
Daddicus Finch - 4/5 (this one was close to 5/5)
Girl's In The Band - 4/5 (this one as well)
    101 Mitigations - 4/5

    3/5
    Bart’s Not Dead - 3/5
    Heartbreak Hotel - 3/5
My Way Or The Highway To Heaven - 3/5 (4/5 originally)
Treehouse of Horror XXIX - 3/5
    Werking Mom - 3/5
    Krusty The Clown - 3/5
Mad About The Toy - 3/5
The Girl On The Bus - 3/5
    I’m Dancing As Fat As I Can - 3/5
    E My Sports - 3/5
Bart Vs. Itchy & Scratchy - 3/5 (close to bumping it to a 4/5)

    2/5
    ’Tis The 30th Season - 2/5 (3/5 originally)
The Clown Stays In The Picture - 2/5
    I Want You (She’s So Heavy) - 2/5
    I'm Just a Girl Who Can't Say D'oh - 2/5
    D’oh Canada - 2/5 (3/5 originally)
    Crystal Blue-Haired Persuasion - 2/5

In a word i'd say lazy. I'll start off with admitting my bias by saying that a lot of the episodes focused on my least favorite character but even then when you think back there was a lot of potential in this season but it was squandered due to them relying on old cliches. once again i'll say that it reminded me of season 24 given that every episode had the same story beats only with marge being the one shilled instead of Lisa. to paraphrase a King of the Hill review I once read this isn't family guy and by trying to make it family guy they've fundamentally ruined the very nature of the show.

the one episode I did enjoy was Tis the 30th Season while the other episodes had great premises that were ruined by the characterizations the family in this episode actually felt like this simpsons. yeah I agree that the premise itself wasn't much but no one was vilified, no one was put on a pedestal, they just tried their best either circumstances or various character flaws got in the way so they made the best of a bad situation.

I think i'm done with the simpsons as of know rereading through the reviews I agreed with all the good points mentioned but all I saw and remember are the bad and at that point its time to throw in the towel.

So, this season started awfully, and had a rough patch in the middle, but there have been a number of good and even great episodes. It feels fairly indistinguishable from the last few years, but maybe the peaks are a little lower (nothing on par with "Steal This Episode" or "Halloween of Horror" here), and the troughs a little deeper, although I think this season has fewer total stinkers than Season 29 and about the same number of home runs. I'll keep watching, but what would it take for me to stop at this stage?

I'll maybe put together some rankings later, but for the most part season 30 was relatively unremarkable.

I can't pick out many stand out episodes, but - weirdly - Bart's not Dead might be one of the best, among a few other interesting ones.

Off the top of my head, one of the worst was The Girl On the Bus. There wasn't anything completely terrible about it, it was just very badly paced, and flat-out dull. I'm sure it would have been received better if they hadn't used the same plot so many times in the past.

I certainly think season 29 was more interesting to follow. It may have had some select episodes that were much worse than anything from season 30, but at least there were a couple of standout ones I would be able to pick out straight away.

This was the worst season of the entire series.

This is not recency bias. A lot of people claim everything post season 8 is bad and that is some of the dumbest crap I have heard people say.

There aren't that many episodes I find outright awful, but there were like, 3 or 4 this season.

Only decent episodes were Krusty the Clown, Woo-Hoo Dunnit, Crystal Blue-Haired Persuasion, and MAYBE Bart's Not Dead. I would say E My Sports if the ending wasn't so terrible.
