Out of character moments you actually like?

Self-explanatory. I figure the obvious choice will be Ned's freakout in Hurricane Neddy.

I like that moment in Make Room For Lisa, where Homer forces Lisa into Bart's room and sings her out with the Odd Couple theme.

The three of them all telling Lisa to go to her room still makes me laugh.

Generally, those very rare moments of Homer being brilliant or crafty, like tricking Fat Tony into getting off his back (temporarily) in The Twisted World of Marge Simpson. His brain seems to do a thing, on occasion.

On Lisa’s Sax, when Homer remembers he stole Flanders’ air conditioner. Ned acts completely out of character when he asks Homer about the air conditioner, he’s very angry. He never gets angry when Homer takes his stuff, even when he wants them back, he gets all embarrassed to ask.
In the sequence, Homer says to let him who is without sin cast the first stone, then Rod (or Todd) does it.

Mr. Burns exercises with the plant employees:

Push out the jive... bring in the love.

-Homer's behavior in "Lisa on Ice" will always be hilarious.

-Bart knowing who Ansel Adams is.

-Homer saying that women will like what he tells them to like.

    -Marge being greedy in "Rosebud."

-Nelson's love of Andy Williams, along with his knowledge of huckleberries.

I've always loved the scene were Burns and Smithers bathe a manatee in Bonfire of the Manatees. Playful Burns is always fun.

One I just thought of is when Bart is supposed to be writing his paper on World War I, but he gets distracted by an algebra textbook "Ooh, algebra...I'll just do a few equations".

Bart being able to perfectly drive a car in "Bart on the Road."

^Those always make me laugh. There's the one where Bart is driving as a baby, I wanna say the ep My Sister My Sitter? and scares the babysitter off. And the one where Maggie is driving and does a vulgar hand signal and also drives past Marge, who's like WTF?

I love these out of character moments when Lisa behaves like a normal child, the episodes that depict her without the philosophical, judgemental attitude of her's. It is really nice seeing Lisa acting like a kid once in a while, because it can be really amusing, like in "Screenless", when Marge discovers that they are all addicted to the internet and Lisa doesn't even object or support her mother, she just makes fun of her, like Bart and Homer. This is one of the few rare moments were Lisa actually agrees with her family over some things, because usually, especially in the later seasons, she is usually the one to find the problem with her family and tries to get them to do something different/better for all of them, but when Marge takes Lisa's place in some episodes, it feels like Lisa has a personality change and begins to act like the others, the way Marge does in most Lisa-centric episodes, which is sometimes really fun for me.

The same thing applies to "There's No Disgrace Like Home", which is very funny and honestly different from the episodes of season 1. I love the fact that Homer takes the role of the voice of reason, Marge becomes the lazy partner, Lisa acts more childish etc. It feels fresh, new, unique and combined with the animation it is just so difficult not to laugh, especially when Marge starts singing "Hey brother, poor the wine!", a scene that feels very Homer-like. It is sad to know that they will probably never switch the roles of the family for a season or at least an episode again, because it was fun and maybe, just maybe, it could make the show a little funnier if they ever decide to do this again.

I thought I had already posted in this thread, but then I realized there's a newer one: https://www.nohomers.net/showthread....ments-you-like

Anyhow, my first pick is the same as in that one, namely Bart having written an old-fashioned play in 'Bart Of Darkness'. So perfectly bizarre.

I like when The Be Sharps were a band, especially at the moment of performing a concert on the roof of Moe's Tavern...
