Why does The Simpsons: Night of the Living Treehouse of Horror end on a cliffhanger?

So I just watched Lonely Goomba’s review on this game and he criticised the ending, which is the Simpsons getting abducted by a UFO. He thought there would be a final boss, but instead, he got sent back to the title screen. Why does this game end on a cliffhanger? It’s almost as if another portion of the game was cut out for no reason.

Because it was published by THQ and it's a bad game. They probably ran out of time or reached the budget and couldn't be bothered adding a grand finale.

I've been wondering that for almost 20 years. I still wanna get a hold of a designer from Software Creations to ask.

Wait... somebody actually finished the game? Even I didn't finish it, and that was when I was living, breathing, and eating Simpsons. The game was so dreadfully horrible, I had to stop playing after an hour.
