    You turn on the shower and discover that the water is . . . << I C E . C O L D >> . . .

    ... what do you do?

I won't even pretend that I'd tough that out, unless it was like the third day with only strip washing.

Or more specifically, I'm not letting that cold water touch my neck/shoulders, so it wouldn't be a full shower.

But I don't live in a warm climate.

Hate when this happens. I prefer warmer/hot water when showering. In this situation, I try to wash anyway, but the coldness irks me so I don't get too close.

Well I turn on the bath faucet first and wait until the water is warm before turning on the shower, so I’ve never had that problem.

I do that normally, but sometimes my building turns off the hot water for maintenance every couple of months. It only becomes an issue then.

I can't say this has ever been an issue for me. I always adjust the water before stepping in even if its a bit wasteful, and we don't deal with cold climate biz or freezing pipes. Although, I have had many moments of wanting a warm shower only to find my stupid brother ran hot water all day so now I have little.

While in Memphis in actual winter time I did have that fear of "what if all the hot water runs out on my long stupid hair???" but it was a non-issue thankfully. Otherwise...gotta do what ya gotta do. I did "rinse off" with cold as hell water from a garbage bin we filled with a bag and water when we knew our water was gonna get turned off for a bit.

Always let the water run before going in the shower.

I hate the cold, so if it's freezing pipes then I'm out
