    2018 movie watchlist thread

Sorry if this is a little bit late, but I couldn't compile a list as quickly as I wanted to. I'm gonna make it a little more spontaneous (NOTE: by the time I wrote that, I had no idea it wasn't going to be spontaneous at all) so it won't take forever. Whether it's an old or new one, which movies do you really want to see? Or at least know you're going to? Are there any classics you want to dig into? I have a lot of movies I really want to see but haven't for some reason yet.

    Upcoming movies:

    The Commuter
    The 15:17 To Paris
    Isle Of Dogs
The Irishman (Supposedly getting released in 2018. I'm so hyped for this movie.)
Solo (I will most likely see this movie, but I'm not really anticipating it)

Released in USA, but not Sweden yet:

All The Money In The World
    Wind River

And then there's the film festival, which I go to every year. I look forward to discovering a few more hidden gems.

    Older movies:

    Action/Thriller
Resident Evil (Just to see what all the hoopla is about, and I haven't seen Milla Jovovich in much)
    Blade
    The Death Wish series
Die Hard 2-4 (and maybe 5, but that doesn't look so good)
    Dirty Harry 2-5
    The Fugitive (rewatch)
    The Conversation
    Air Force One
    Patriot Games
    Clear And Present Danger
    Witness
    The Untouchables
    The Hunt For Red October
    A Time To Kill
    Con Air
    Speed
    Outbreak
    Crash (1996)
The Spy Who Came In From The Cold
    Frantic

    Western
    Rio Bravo
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
    The Wild Bunch
    The Searchers

    Musicals
    Paint Your Wagon
    Oklahoma!
    Jesus Christ Superstar
    The King And I
    On The Town
    Guys And Dolls
    Top Hat
    The Producers

    Comedies
    The Birdcage
    Guess Who's Coming To Dinner
    Blazing Saddles
    Soul Man
    Bamboozled
    The Hard Way
    Stakeout
    Teen Wolf
    Bingo
    Brewster's Millions
    Trading Places
    The Odd Couple
    Uncle Buck
    Party Monster
    The Toy
    Stir Crazy
    Alfie
Zazie (This movie looks funny, even though the poster is terribly scary)

    Drama/Epics
    Bright Lights, Big City
    Requiem For A Dream
    Casualties Of War
    Patton
In The Heat Of The Night
    The Greatest Show On Earth
    The 10 Commandments
    Ben-Hur
    Spartacus
    20000 Leagues Under The Sea
Around The World In 80 Days (original)
    Old Yeller

The Mummy (This one doesn't really fit into either of these categories, but had to put it on here)

    Sci-fi
    Logan's Run
    Silent Running
The Day The Earth Stood Still
    Colossus: The Forbin Project
    Westworld
    Futureworld
    The Andromeda Strain
    The Stepford Wives
    Brainscan

    Silent movies:

    Vampyr
    The Golem
    Dr. Caligari
Birth Of A Nation (just for how notorious it is)
    Körkarlen
    The Phantom Of The Opera

I'm gonna have to stop before I go a little insane. But that's my list for now! My goal is that by the end of the year, I will have seen half of these movies. More only if I'm lucky.

This year, I've been wanting to focus more on TV shows than movies, but I still would like to try and get to these sometime this year:

    House (1977 Japanese horror film)
    The Magic Christian
Lupin the 3rd: The Mystery of Mamo
    Vampire's Kiss (with Nicolas Cage)
    The Trip
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (I saw some of this last year actually, but I never got to finish it.)
    Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
    Urusei Yatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer
    Enter the Ninja
Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters (Got into ATHF last year)
Futurama: Bender's Big Score (I've had this from Netflix for about four months now.)
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery
    The Madness of King George
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (the 1978 musical. It's supposed to be really bad, but I want to see for myself)
Monty Python's The Meaning of Life (I've seen most of their films (besides this one and the Hollywood Bowl film))
    Macbeth (1971 version)

Most of these I've wanted to watch for quite sometime, but I never got around to watching these. I have some more films I want to see, but I don't want to bite off more than I can chew - so I'll just be posting these.

Ready Player One - Looks to essentially be The Matrix but with video games. Sign me up for another dystopian future and reflecting on what the concept of reality is.

The Han Solo Movie - I have no interest in the backstory of Han Solo or seeing someone who is not Harrison Ford playing the character. That said, this is a Star Wars movie and I am one with the force and the force is with me.

Venom - My favorite villain finally gets a solo movie. This one could go either way. Please don't disappoint...

X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Avengers 4- Why am I only anticipating superhero movies? Who knows, but I look forward to more confusing timelines and characters being replaced. Will Iron Man have any more one liners to break dramatic tension?

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - Jurrassic Park doesn't suck again! The reboot worked! Bring on the velociraptors and sexy Jeff Goldblum
You can't prove it won't happen.

All right, let's see how many I've actually seen since I made this thread...

    Action/Thriller
Resident Evil (Just to see what all the hoopla is about, and I haven't seen Milla Jovovich in much)
    Blade
The Death Wish series (The first 3)
Die Hard 2-4 (and maybe 5, but that doesn't look so good) (2 and Vengeance)
    Dirty Harry 2-5
    The Fugitive (rewatch)
    The Conversation
    Air Force One
    Patriot Games

    Clear And Present Danger
    Witness
    The Untouchables
    The Hunt For Red October
    A Time To Kill
    Con Air
    Speed

    Outbreak
    Crash (1996)
The Spy Who Came In From The Cold
    Frantic

    Western
    Rio Bravo
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
    The Wild Bunch
    The Searchers

    Musicals
    Paint Your Wagon
    Oklahoma!
    Jesus Christ Superstar
    The King And I
    On The Town
    Guys And Dolls
    Top Hat
    The Producers

    Comedies
    The Birdcage
    Guess Who's Coming To Dinner

    Blazing Saddles
    Soul Man
    Bamboozled
    The Hard Way
    Stakeout
    Teen Wolf
    Bingo
    Brewster's Millions
    Trading Places
    The Odd Couple
    Uncle Buck
    Party Monster
    The Toy
    Stir Crazy
    Alfie
Zazie (This movie looks funny, even though the poster is terribly scary)

    Drama/Epics
    Bright Lights, Big City
    Requiem For A Dream
    Casualties Of War
    Patton
In The Heat Of The Night
    The Greatest Show On Earth
    The 10 Commandments
    Ben-Hur
    Spartacus
20000 Leagues Under The Sea (Still haven't seen it, but will very soon)
Around The World In 80 Days (original)
    Old Yeller

The Mummy (This one doesn't really fit into either of these categories, but had to put it on here)

    Sci-fi
    Logan's Run
    Silent Running

The Day The Earth Stood Still
    Colossus: The Forbin Project
    Westworld
    Futureworld
    The Andromeda Strain
    The Stepford Wives
    Brainscan

    Silent movies:

    Vampyr
    The Golem
    Dr. Caligari
Birth Of A Nation (just for how notorious it is)
    Körkarlen
The Phantom Of The Opera (I was referring to the original, and yes I did see it)

Guess Who's Coming To Dinner and The Odd Couple are masterpieces. Logan's Run, Silent Running and The Stepford Wives are really cool sci-fi movies.

But the overall check-off result is meh. You can tell I forgot about this list.
