Rate and Review American Dad!: "Hayley Smith, Seal Team Six"

Original Airdate: February 8th, 2016. Hayley mentally regresses to a 6-year-old. Steve and his pals get a slow cooker. Will I remember that this airs at 5:30 now and actually watch an episode of this Season? Tune in to find out.

-Slow Cooker guy just made me think of that underwear salesman a few Seasons back.
-Yay, Dr. Penguin's back! And with a smoking obsession.
-"Must get secret stash of Viagra."
-6 year old Hayley kinda adorable (loved her pattycake with Roger), like Rachels voice here.
-Was worried they were actually gonna end the slow cooker plot with all of them in the future. Wouldn't be the first time a subplot did that.
    -"It's a god damn Hambulence!"
-Joe Chandler was odd, but kinda funny. Would be interesting to see him again.

Pretty good episode. Hayley's plot was really fun and the subplot actually felt somewhat complete for a change. Would've liked to have seen more of Stan and Francine's reactions to Hayley's personality switches, but it did good as Jeff episode, and had plenty of laughs throughout.

    4/5

Now that was a funny episode! The Hayley plot went into a lot more detail about her past than I thought it would, and Jeff and Klaus got to make a surprisingly great duo. But I really loved the completely insane route Steve's story took, especially at the end:

"This isn't an ambulance! It's a goddamn hambulance!"

Definitely the strongest of the season so far. 4/5

That hambulance could be borderline nightmare fuel.

Good main plot, pretty boring sub plot. I'm usually not a fan of episodes centered mostly about Hayley, but this one didn't bore or annoy me as much. Might've actually been the reason for her acting like her younger self, it kind of makes perfectly sense that she was once a lot more cheerful. And I liked that the reasoning behind her change of views isn't something incredibly silly, just watching animal cruelty on TV which was enough for her to change. I also liked how Jeff and Klaus teamed up with their own parody of Wheels & The Legman (though apparently Haykey is against animal cruelty yet doesn't mind making Klauses life miserable...?). Good to see Dr Penguin back which is probably one of Rogers best characters, that Joe Chandler guy was kinda funny but his obsession with Hayley just feels out of place. I loved that monstrous look of the seal, and the court scene was pretty funny to end the main plot with. Also liked this line from Francine ''Roger we can't have a grown woman acting like a child, this isn't the Disney Channel''.

As for the sub plot, I didn't care for it as much. I didn't mind the pervert gags but the overall plot bored me, it did have some good jokes like Steve's nightmares and the Hambulance. Overall I'd rate it a 3.5/5, about the same quality as last weeks episode.

Pretty good episode. Very cute premise and had some fun moments. Love the Wheels and the Legman parody with Jeff and Klaus. Ending may have been a bit rushed. The jury bit with Roger was amusing. Again, Rachel's performance here was great. She had a very convinving six year old voice.

Subplot had some very funny moments, particularly as it got crazier and crazier. Wish there was more build up though, the pacing for the subplot was weird. The ending was the best part. Hambulance is a good pun. 3.5/5

Very good episode. The slow cooker plot was funny though I was afraid of it either ending on the future bit or the Hambulance reveal (This show can be very unpredictable like that sometimes, and not always in a good way). Main plot with Hayley/Jeff/Klaus was great. Fun story, lot of good gags. The first episode of the season that felt beyond merely passable. 4/5

Pretty fun. If you were to remove the handful of groaners this could easily have been decent episode of the FOX run, After the general mediocrity of the TBS era so far with few exceptions that's a very high compliment.

Better episode than the last two. The sub-plots are getting worse, they have less and less to do with anything. Just dump them and spend the extra two minutes on the A plot.

Yea pretty much. they're probably happy but "i can do a lot of cool shit" felt incredibly forced and unnatrual. they just want it in every episode now that they can say it but it really isn't necessary.

Yeah, it really does feel like they're just shoehorning in the newer swears they can say uncensored for the sake of it.
