Really disappointed they showed like 4 short Pete&Pete clips the first week and since then no episodes.

the Hey Arnold! tv movie news on the last page made me really happy

hey Arnold was one of my favorite shows as a kid and it's one of the few shows I've seen in the past few years that actually holds up pretty well, at least imo it does. can't wait.

Nicktoons live-action/animated film is going forward in production, tentatively titled (what else?) "NickToons"

Jared Hess (director of Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre and some other random comedies) is writing and directing, and the current lineup of shows confirmed to have characters appear are "Rocko's Modern Life" (yay!), "Rurgrats", "Ren & Stimpy" (John K signin away), "Aaah! Real Monsters" and "The Angry Beavers". (I know for sure they'll have "Hey Arnold!" in there eventually but with the Disney situation I would expect maybe just a cameo from "Doug" characters) The premise is described as like Paramount's answer to "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", which intrigues me a ton. Assuming the characters are animated traditionally (putting them in CGI is basically just shitting over any concept of nostalgia), this could be pretty awesome at the very least to watch. Combining live-action and traditional animation is such a fascinating high-wire act that, when done well is basically the definition of "movie magic".

so I say bring it on

Yeah, it does sound truly awful, but I'm morbidly intrigued and hoping the animation's at least good (and non-CG). Also curious as to what they're gonna do with Ren & Stimpy, it's kinda surprising to me that they're going to use them here considering all the drama with Kricfalusi and Adult Party Cartoon.

I'm not even being nostalgic here, but Nick hasn't produced a single good show in the last 10 years. Literally, there are no good Nick shows that came out past Avatar.

They "officially" died in early 2006, when Cyma Zarghami became their president. Rather quickly, they lost what variety they had, and spammed nothing but SpongeBob and Dan "Get in My Van" Schneider's tweencoms.

It's no wonder they're relying on nostalgia to stay afloat.

Well if it is still happening that would at least mean Rocko would not be involved.

Or maybe it just really isn't happening.

    Oh well.

I assume they just meant having all these cartoon worlds intersect with the real world in the style of Roger Rabbit. I doubt they'd go quite that dark with it.

@Ryan it would seem as though it's the first of its kind. I did some Google searching but all I could find as far as game show related movies go is this historical movie with Hank Azaria based on some scandals surrounding an NBC game show called "Twenty One".

Quiz Show is a great film, although that would be like calling The Social Network a "Facebook movie".

I can't help to think it would just be cheaper and more successful to revive the damn show itself? It's not as if game shows have gone out of style or anything.

it's probably gonna be some sort of faux indiana jones type deal. don't see what else it could possibly be. maybe the characters think whatever they are going through is real, only for the twist of the movie to be its all a game show? kind of like the even stevens movie maybe?

Could also be the opposite. They bring back this old game show, unaware that the reason it was done away with in the first place is that the shit was legit real and they have to play along to escape.

I had way more nightmares about playing Double Dare. It grossed me out as a kid and I never thought that I would be able to do it, but it was a free trip to Nickelodeon Studios so I was always conflicted.

My Double Dare nightmares involved being unable to find the flag in the giant PB&J or bologna sandwich during the Blue Plate Special obstacle

Man I'm sure so many kids would've actually killed to be able to go to prime Nick studios back then

I have no recollection of "Legends of the Hidden Temple" or "Nickelodeon GUTS". I guess I was just too young to remember them when they were on. I dug those over the top obstacle course ridden game shows though. Stuff like "Gladiators", "Fort Boyard" and "Total Wipeout", so I'm sure I would have enjoyed the stuff that actually had kids competing.
