He came back to mansplain an episode of Doug to me, which wasn't even what my post was about

For someone who claims to understand Doug on a much deeper level he must've missed the whole thing about racial tolerance

I guess I should have suspected someone who claims to define "corny" as "humble sincerity" would think Islam is a race.

For the rest of us, "corny" and sophisticated/philosophically innovative are antithetical.

This one has the stuff immediately following that scene including actual speaking parts for Helga, Grandpa Phil and Mr. Simmons.
    How to remaster

I like how "the jungle movie" was obviously a placeholder title and they just decided to keep it, haha

That's because its original title - Hey Arnold!: The Movie - was already taken.

For those of you not familiar with the story: after the success of the first two Rugrats movies, then-Nickelodeon head Herb Scannell decided to branch the animated movies out more, starting with a Hey Arnold! movie - "The Jungle Movie" - scheduled for release around 2000. There was also going to be a direct-to-TV movie about Arnold having to save the neighborhood from developers. The first movie ran into development and political hell, so they decided to convert the TV movie into what ended up as the theatrical movie; however, by the time it finally came out, the fan base had grown out of the show, and it bombed. To make things worse, creator Craig Bartlett accepted a deal with Cartoon Network to develop a new series, but Nickelodeon wanted him to stay, and when he left, reportedly they retaliated by putting the Arnold movie on the back burner. (After the Wild Thornberrys movie and the third Rugrats movie pretty much crashed and burned, Nickelodeon got out of the animated film business for years.) With the recent increase in popularity in '90s Nickelodeon shows, Nickelodeon decided to renew interest in "The Jungle Movie" as a TV-movie; I think it is only scheduled to run one hour.

Watched "The Jungle Movie" earlier today.

Really enjoyed it. Was such a satisfying way to give the series closure and it's also just really nice to look at (Some great music too). It's hard to go in-depth without spoiling a ton, but it felt like there was a lot more they were able to get away with in terms of violence. It's a lot darker in places than the show's ever really attempted to do before, but it works incredibly well in terms of making the stakes feel life-threateningly high. It's nice to see a revival of sorts like this that actually has some reason to exist. It doesn't try to force modern tech onto the kids or update itself beyond being a lot sharper looking that the OG show and having the kids be that slight bit older. It's so clearly made for people who watched the original run too. A real love letter to the fans.

I do feel like it could've benefited from maybe an extra 10 minutes for the conclusion, but it was still a charming, fun ride nonetheless.

It was fantastic, I was smiling the whole time. I remember reading a chatroom transcript of craig bartlett talking to fans about it like 10+ years ago and I'm so happy he finally got the chance to do it. I groaned when they did the meta-joke about how beepers are obsolete now but then it actually becomes relevant to the plot!
