No, it's actually one of/his best!
-
Wouldn't rank it among the greats, but no, not his worst.
-
Somewhere in the middle.
-
One of the worst, but not THE worst.
-
Yep. It is. Don't think I'd watch this one again.

Hey there, handsome
Is Death Proof Tarantino's worst movie?
I certainly think so myself. Out of those I've seen at least.
I mean... It was so dull. The dialogue was way worse than his other movies, not to mention that barely any characters at all were interesting or even that funny. Stuntman Mike was awesome, he's the reason I managed to give the movie a 6 (It would have been a 4 or a 5 without him). But it still is simply not a very good movie. It was incredibly disappointing. Now, I didn't think From Dusk Till Dawn completely worked (Rodriguez' movie, I know, but Quentin Tarantino wrote the script and he's best known for his dialogue), but was funny enough that I still liked it. That's not the case here.
Also, obviously want super-Pulp Fiction fan @Simpson_Sweden's opinion.

Interesting opinion, @handy wonder. I'm not being sarcastic, I would like to know your reason for it.

death proof was good, but then again i like cars and car chase movies of the 1970s that clearly inspired the movie and the dialogue. i can totally see why someone would be uninterested in it though.

The main reason I was so let down by it is because Tarantino has shown he can write truly awesome female characters. Mia in Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, The Bride in Kill Bill, Alabama in True Romance...
So I couldn't for the life of me understand why most of the characters in Death Proof were so goddamn flat and one-dimensional.

I fuckin love Death Proof. Tarantino doing a car chase movie was a wet dream of mine. But I'll admit that it slows down to a stand still in the middle. It's a bit like, he needed/wanted to have all the standard Tarantino dialogue and all the great action, but couldn't get the dialogue to work into the action. So it is instead all by itself in the middle. Cut the middle section down or make it more eventful and this could be amongst the best Tarantino films.
So yeah, as much as I love it Death Proof can't compete with most of his other films just because of how solid they are. No idea how I'd rank them, but I'd put (his portion of) Four Rooms and Jackie Brown at the bottom and likely Death Proof just above that.
And yeah, I realize that I am fairly alone with my ranking of Jackie Brown. It's a good film, it just seems like more of the same and not quite as good as Reservoir Dogs (the best of his early films) and Pulp Fiction (mediocre when placed amongst other Tarantino films).

Death Proof is one of my favorite Tarantino flicks I've seen. Kurt Russell was an awesome villain. I love how it was two movies in one, sort of. The first half was like a thriller/slasher, and the second was an exhilarating as fuck action flick. That car chase, goddamn. Best car chase ever. Easily the better film of the Grindhouse double feature.

Dang, of course.
Anyway:
Pulp Fiction 10/10 - This is his masterpiece. Some of the best dialogue ever written in the history of cinema, not to mention it's a very fun wild journey through several characters lives, where they get to learn a little more about themselves through it.
Jackie Brown 9.4/10 - Very close to a perfect movie. While it wasn't as "cool" as Pulp Fiction, it was very funny and was even better at developing its characters.
True Romance 9.2/10 - True romance indeed. One of the most unique takes on romantic chemistry ever, not to mention that (as with almost all of his movies) it's incredibly hilarious.
Inglorious Basterds 9/10 - It has one of my favorite movie opening scenes of all time and is much, much better than the goofy and downright confusing original.
Kill Bill Vol. 1 9/10 - Some highly inventive action scenes and a very kickass main character who won't let ANYONE stand in her way. I also loved the animation they used for a flashback sequence.
Reservoir Dogs 8.5/10 - It does feel a little too slow in some parts, but is classic Tarantino.
From Dusk Till Dawn 8/10 - At first I thought it was great, then just really, really stupid, then great again. Rodriguez crazy direction and story and Tarantino's script does struggle quite a bit to mix in the middle, but winds up as a rewarding experience.
Death Proof 6/10 - It's, uuuuhmm... It's boring. It has Kurt Russell and a fantastic car chase, but like I've already mentioned, a big disappointment.

WHY have u opted not to see kill bill vol 2.. especially if you thought it was that good

الذهاب المغيرين
lol yeah who watches half a movie?

Hey there, handsome
I dunno, sometimes it just takes very long for me to see a sequel. One of the few exceptions where I saw the other parts pretty quickly was with The Godfather.
-
-
الذهاب المغيرين
it's not even really a sequel, it's literally the second half of the film
