That's how i feel about a good deal of well known female music artists like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, etc. People see what they see and assume it isn't worth their time or something to be offended by. Not ALL of their songs are hits, but people need to open themselves up more.

I can't dig Elvis, don't know what it is but something about his music bugs me.

Top 40 radio is better than modern rock radio, and has been for the better part of a decade, probably more.

Oh, that gets asked too. I assume most people who ask "Elvis or Beatles" have seen Pulp Fiction too many times.

I've heard to much rap for my own good. People on my bus play it, it's always played at school events, my friends mention it all the time.

Because it's played when I don't want it to be played, it's gained a negative reputation in my eyes

Both are pointless questions, as all three have very different styles.

    Emo is misunderstood and underrated.
Abbey Road is probably the worst real Beatles album (post boy band years).
All surf rock is the same.

i fiure that abbey road probably would have been better if it had more full songs instead of having the suite dominate half the record but i still like the suite so i'm split.

surely they had something better to replace oh darling tho.

The former, but also the "Yellow Submarine Soundtrack".

People talk about The Beatles too much. I think this leads to my indifference towards them.

Sex Pistols are piss, and Never Mind the Bollocks is a garbage record.

i think oh darling is great, but maxwell's silver hammer and I want you are the worst songs instead. the abbey road medley is great as it is, but here comes the sun and something are still the best songs on the entire album.

abbey road is more a great closing album and a return to form for the beatles than anything else.

I love the Sex Pistols and Never Mind The Bullocks, but they are quite an acquired taste, can see why people don't like them.

Yeah, I think the sex pistols are just ok, but they are easily the most overrated punk band.

indie rock opinions for whoever will get them:
    - innerspeaker >>>>>>>> lonerism, tho both are rly good

    - i prefer post panasonic-mtn goats for the most part, although west texas is near perfect too.

    - evil urges is the best my morning jacket record

    - some of the pre-isn't anything my bloody valentine stuff is great

Never Mind the Bollocks is a pretty good album, but it's so damn overrated and it's not the great punk album people make it out to be. There are far better punk bands than The Sex Pistols like The Ramones, The Clash and Joy Division to name a few.

hip hop has tons of opinions; the underground's concensus is that g-unit sucks.

I admit it; I somewhat like G-Unit. I could do without Tony Yayo and 50 Cent's only in it for the money. Lloyd Banks & Young Buck are the ones I care for the most, creative, independent and standouts.

  28. #115

50 Cent is actually pretty great. If you don't like Get Rich or Die Tryin I don't know what to tell you. The production on it is huge and 50 was one of the hungriest rappers in mainstream rap at the time. I could careless about anything after that album, but GRoDT is a pretty great mainstream hip hop album.

The Game put out some okay stuff. Same with Buck. The rest are entirely forgettable.

Forum full of real hip-hop heads. I'm not trying to pick a side, I'm just saying there's an underground concensus that's against the mainstream concensus.
