    Also:

I hate them whenever 'Life In The Fast Lane' play. But that's really the only time I downright hate them.
LA decadence. Plus Don Henley has this ability to be an smug asshole. Just not a big fan. Plus it's not Creedence.
    Origi corner taken quickly.

also I like the eagles most people know this but only pre hotel california eagles

their more country influenced stuff is more interesting than their shift to generic hard rock, def prefer the jackson browne type sound. should never have pushed out bernie leadon, idiots.

My dad use to play records on weekends. He introduced me to bands like CCR, Supertramp, Chicago, Earth, Wind and Fire and the Doobie Brothers.

And since there's Blur/Oasis discourse do I have to reiterate that Pulp were in fact the best Britpop band?

I'd struggle even considering Oasis as britpop for the most part. As far as Pulp goes, I've never listened to them. Not intentional, just never got around to it. I've heard their brilliant so I'll have to give them a listen one of these days.

Their guitar player was awesome. Great voice too. Until he accidentally shot himself in the head.

Out of the 3 bands, Pulp had the longest career. I like Oasis and Blur more, but their careers went crashing down (Be Here Now nearly killed britpop and Blur split up in early 2000s) So in that way, Pulp is more successful.

If you lower your standards a bit, suppress your inner critic, and just listen to it, Be Here Now is actually an okay listen.

Tug Of War is McCartney's best solo album.

That's one of the most praised albums in his career, so not very unpopular.

Yeah, but band on the run is usually considered the best.

Haven't heard any of that, but I'm not really into modern pop at all. I should try to get with the times though, any good stuff to recommend?

I think One Second's Thoughlessness, Deceives The Eye and Animal Farm are up there with other great Madness songs like Our House, House of Fun and Baggy Trousers.

The Ramones fucking suck. Most of their songs have like 3 chords and sound like they were written in 2 minutes.

Okay, I'm definitely gonna have to disagree big-time there. I find The Ramones one of the most passionate and inspirational rock bands of all time. It's got such a fresh energy about it that's never aged, and Johnny Ramone has one of the greatest voices ever. Nobody can sing punk rock like him.

The Ramones are a good band, and they are not bad.

  25. #1464

Even if you like them, I don't see how they could constitute a good band.

  26. #1465

I'd like to also say that I fully understand the charm and appeal of The Ramones, but I find their music to be very simple and often times really stupid. They're not hard to listen to, but I wouldn't intentionally listen to them

  27. #1466

Doesn't help that I don't much like punk in the first place.

Yellow Submarine is both a good song and a film

    (The film is still better)
