Who's watching the playoffs? I want a Royals-Cardinals World Series, since my mom lives near Kansas City and my dad lives near St. Louis. My primary residence changed from my dad's to my mom's, but I'm a Cardinal fanatic 'til I die. You can bet I'd be flaunting my Cardinal wear in school.

Personally, I don't really care who wins, considering my favorite team is the Yanks. But...

If I had to pick a match-up, I'd like to see Kansas City v. the Cards.

I have no problem with the Yankees. Everybody hates them because they have more money and can spend it on high-caliber players, but to me they're just another team.

A's and Giants. All there is to it

I've been going to A's games since I was a toddler. I'm not a huge baseball fan or anything, but I like going to A's and Giants games...and A's vs. Giants, well, that's just too exciting

I really wish baseball was broadcast in Australia.

I support the Angels but I have to watch all their games on catch up

the blue jays are doing pretty good so far. kevin pillar has been insane on defense. this catch he made last week was unbelievable:

since the nhl playoffs started i've pretty much just been watching the condensed games at like 4am. huge 13 to 6 win tonight against the orioles, but the best part was when it got a little crazy.

bautista was getting thrown at earlier in baltimore. now here at home they threw behind him again. few pitches later he cranks one out of the park, flips the bat and none of the orioles liked that. lots of yelling back and forth as he rounded the bases. and during the commercial break there was quite a bit of jawing between adam jones and bautista. nice to see some hate between the two teams.

Game five tomorrow! It's going to be a good one for sure!
But by God, I miss hearing Buck Martinez calling the games. You feel me, fellow Canadians?

  17. #46

Astros bullpen blew ANOTHER game. It's just frustrating watching a crumble like that. I've had a couple bad days with my fav teams just collapsing (Seahawks and Astros). It's great that The Astros even made the playoffs because no one was expecting it until the next couple years, but now that they're here it's frustrating to watch them blow it.

Not a Jays fan at all but it would be heartbreaking to see them blow it at home.

Also couldn't stop laughing when Larry King left game one of the Dodgers/Mets series before it was over.

That is all, big balls shown by this team coming back from 0-2 down and one of the craziest innings of recent memory. Add this one to the Carter and Alomar home runs.

I don't really follow baseball (very casual Reds/Nationals fan) but I am rooting for the Cubs because of the Back to the Future thing. The story is too good to resist.

(Also, c'mon. They are so due by now.)

    This. C'mon Cubbies!

The only slightly disappointing part is that the World Series won't actually have happened by October 21st. Also they won't be playing against a "Miami" team -- which is actually impossible since the Miami Marlins are in the same division as the Cubs, but oh well. It would be so fucking awesome if they win regardless. The fact that the Cubs haven't won a WS since 1908 has always been a favorite sports statistic of mine for years. I'll be happy if that fact finally changes.

haha yea even bob gale was commenting on it going, "holy crap, this is nuts... that was just a joke"

wouldn't it be great if a conspiracy unraveled in later years to show that the MLB just said, "fuck it" and rigged the season to have the cubs win after universal paid them a crapload of money. "well I guess this'll help get people's minds off the steroid scandals"

also @Stevil Dead the second I saw you posted in a sports thread I instantly knew what this was about

Haha, I half-expected him to stop by when I mentioned it. Back to the Future is basically the Bat Signal for Steve!

I don't really care that strongly about the Cubs winning, I just generally like seeing the sadsack sports franchises (and their fans) getting a championship. But the level of coincidence involved with the movie thing is fun to root for too.

Yeah, I care about 0.001% about sports in general, but this is really cool and I'd love for them to win purely because of the BTTF tie-in. Plus it is fun to root for such an underdog. 107 years HAS to be the longest championship drought in all of pro sports, right? Can't imagine any other team comes anywhere close.
