    "Sonic the Hedgehog" movie

    Looks like this is happening
    http://time.com/2854410/sonic-the-hedgehog-movie/

Also "Mix of live action and CGI"? For the love of God, do we really need to take it that route? What's wrong with just having Sonic and co. stay in Mobius? We've had them go into the human world plenty already (Sonic X, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic '06 to the best of my recollection). It doesn't need to be done again. Unless of course the live action part simply means that they're casting a live-action version of Eggman, and even then, I'd still be against it.

Sonic '06 made him look fucked up enough with the realistic appearance.

It'll be interesting to see if this ties into/effects the current Cartoon Network series being made based on the upcoming Wii U game "Sonic Boom", or if it'll be an entirely separate venture (Maybe they're expecting the show will have ended by the time this movie comes out).
    How to remaster

The Sonic characters annoy me to no end so I doubt I would be able to stomach 90 or more minutes of them talking.

Meh, they've already done probably the worst they could to the franchise, might as well go ahead and try for the ol "CGI Cartoon Animals In Real World" movie route. Just hoping it doesn't turn out to be Sonic 06: The Movie, and shows more Sonic characters than just humans.

Oh, and if they're making Eggman live action, they better get Doug Walker to do his role.

Just because I'm stupider than them, they think they're smarter than me!

Fuck it's that Ninja Turtles 2007 movie all over again...

Oh, and 3D with Live Action is no longer phenomenal, it's even shown that they don't make much money anymore

anyways this being made by the same studio that made "the smurfs" and sounds on the level of the same thing so yeah this will suck and the internet with its rabid fanbase will whine about it a lot. oh, joy

Yeah, that last Smurfs movie was shown to have not met Sony's expectations, which is why the next one their doing is a prequel that just stays within the Smurfs world rather than having them cast into ours again.

I have not been a Sonic fan in sometime...part of that is due to most of the supporting cast. The use of any live action for this also sounds really unappealing to me.
I imagine I would watch it should I find a stream of it somewhere.

Man, could you imagine if they gave Big his own movie? Like, it'd literally be an hour and a half of him wandering around and talking to himself in that down syndrome-ridden voice of his while he laments over the absence of his pet frog. With like, a 2 minute cameo from the rest of the Sonic cast and maybe a little more than that if they were to fire in Cream and Amy.

The movie is being animated in-house by SEGA's Marza studio, so I have faith in the quality of animation. Here's their previous Sonic work:

I remember that. At least the animation should be decent based on that. I don't see why they couldn't just animated humans in the same way as in that short though, because that would work far better if they really wanted to have human characters rather than the time-tested failure that is the live-action/CGI hybrid.

Even with Sonic's rocky track record the past few years, I'll probably go see this one day. Heck, I'll probably even pick up Sonic Boom for the Wii U.
Always happy to meet new fans of The Simpsons. I'm especially interested in the dubs of the show, the German dub in particular.
Incidentally, there's someone on Boards and Rec also named Lance Uppcercut. That's not me.... that is to say, that is not the same person.

Based on what my friends played at E3, the Wii U version is like a fun Sony platformer, but don't expect it to play like a Sonic game. The 3DS version is more of a Sonic game with an emphasis on exploration, which is similar to Sonic CD in that regard.
