    Simpsons Bible Stories : 6
    Simpsons Tall Tales : 1

Simpsons Bible Stories is imo one of the best trilogy episodes and religious themed ever made. No question here.
Currently re-watching all of the show, from Season 26 backwards. So far :
    Seasons Ranking : 23 > 26 > 22 > 24 > 25

Best and Worst from each season :
S21 (so far) : The Devil Wears Nada / None so far..
S22- Angry Dad: The Movie / How Munched is That Birdie in the Window?.
S23- Holidays of Future Passed / Moe Goes From Rags To Riches.
    S24- A Test Before Trying / Love is a Many-Splintered Thing.
S25- Brick Like Me / What to Expect When Bart's Expecting.
S26- I Won't Be Home For Christmas / The Man Who Came to Be Dinner.

Match 13: Hello Gutter, Hello Fadder Vs. Smart And Smarter

In case you're confused, both episodes focus more on Maggie's role in the family.
Also, I would've voted Simpsons Bible Stories. I find it much funnier.

    Hello Gutter, Hello Fadder: 1
    Smart And Smarter: 0

It's one of my favorite episodes from the Scully-era, it's surprisingly heart-sweetening.

The 15 minutes of fame idea in Hello Gutter, Hello Fadder was sort of explored already in Bart Gets Famous. Smart and Smarter kind of explored the Lisa-Maggie dynamic, but it didn't do a very good job. Neither are particularly good Maggie episodes (the best one, of course, easily being And Maggie Makes Three), but I'll just vote for Smart and Smarter here.

Smart And Smarter is hilarious and one of the best of season 15. Hello Gutter Hello Fadder has a decent third act but the Homer gets famous part is pretty awful.

Hello Gutter, Hello Fadder is a mess. I don't really care about Homer's fame, and that part of the episode is actually pretty boring. Then when he realizes people don't want to hear about him any more, he decides to commit suicide, because not being a celebrity is obviously a good reason to commit suicide. Then he realizes he could be fulfilled by his family, which he apparently didn't care about before talking to that famous guy whose name I can't remember who is taking his kids to the zoo. Then he goes swimming and almost drowns, until Maggie develops super-human strength and manages to swim down and save him. Just an complete and utter mess. Smart and Smarter could have been far better (namely by not including Simon Cowell), but it was still okay and a masterpiece compared to Hello Gutter, Hello Fadder.

Sorry, this site is being a pain in the ass for me for some reason; it's telling me the only size of files I can upload are .1 KB. Where am I supposed to find files that size?

Anyway, it was a tough choice, as both episodes are flawlessly written, but I chose Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy because it has more memorable and funny jokes.
"Hello. Smithers. You're. Quite. Good. At. Turning. Me. On."
"Mayday, mayday, I'm losing your transmission!"
"I'm a white male, age 18 to 49. Everyone listens to me, no matter how dumb my suggestions are."

Get the URL of the picture you're going to use, paste it here and put [img] and [/img] tags around the picture. Don't sweat the pictures too much, though.

Both are excellent episodes (which I haven't seen in a while), but I think I'll go for Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy. I'd probably go for The Old Man and the Lisa on another day, though, because it's a very close choice.

I don't like either of these episodes, but I guess Old Man and the Lisa is less annoying.

Both great episodes, but the Lisa-Burns-dynamic is more interesting.

Both decent episodes, but "Stacy" is more memorable.

    The Simpsons episode matches

    Match 15: The Seven-Beer Snitch/Donnie Fatso

(I can't upload images right now)

"Snitch" is forgettable but entertaining. "Fatso" is kinda just dull and has a bad fourth act.

    The Seven-Beer Snitch: 1
    Donnie Fatso: 0

Damn it, @AEG, you beat me to it!
I'll go for The Seven-Beer-Snitch. It's forgettable, but Donnie Fatso is terrible.
What's the similarity of the two episodes, by the way?

  27. #147

In both episodes, Homer works as a prison snitch. I would have put "Trillions" against either of the episodes, but I think the match-up I picked works better as they're both from the Jean era.

I guess. "The Trouble With Trillions" is much better than both of those episodes though. Every time I see it I die laughing. Such a hilarious, underrated episode.

  29. #149

I think "Snitch" actually works better than "Trillions". They both have pretty wacky and convoluted plots, and neither of them are very funny, but I enjoy "Snitch" more despite how the plot does not make sense. I haven't seem either of them in a while, though.

Sigh...you guys are making this harder than it should be. Anyway, The Seven-Beer Snitch is really entertaining for a post-classic episode, and it's one of my favorites from season 16. Donnie Fatso is fine, but even if you look past the Fit-Fat Tony stuff, it's not as good. As for the second match, I'm going to be different and say Miracle on Evergreen Terrace. It's a Christmas episode that really feels like The Simpsons; it's like the complete opposite of those "How xxx Saved Christmas" TV specials on ABC Family. Depressing, cynical, but still heartwarming in its own way...really different and great Christmas episode. (It's got nothing on Marge Be Not Proud, though.)

    The Seven-Beer Snitch: 2
    Donnie Fatso: 0

    Bart vs. Thanksgiving: 0
    Miracle On Evergreen Terrace: 1
