    Lisa Gets an 'A': 5
Bart vs. Lisa vs. the Third Grade: 0

Lisa Gets an A is one of the highlights of season 10 and one of the highlights of the post-classic era in general. Bart vs Lisa vs The Third Grade is pretty decent but nothing special overall.

    Rosebud: 1

I love part two but i find it weaker then the first part. Rosebud is one my favorite episodes of the series.

Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part Two): 0
    Rosebud: 2

WSMB Part Two is surprisingly not very funny for a classic episode. It focuses more on plot, but even on that level there's some baffling elements like Lisa finding the whole "W-S" thing with the help of a talking pigeon basically.

I dislike Bobo's odyssey to Antartica, to Kwik-E-Mart, and then to the Simpsons in Rosebud, but after that the plot is just flawless and the humour is excellent . Burns has also a great characterization here (His second best after LETS actually).

Rosebud is probably the second most overrated episode of the classic era, after Homer at the Bat. I'm not a big fan of Mr. Burns's characterization. Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part Two) is my second favourite episode of the whole series.

part 1 is tons better than part 2 but even that wouldn't succeed against rosebud because it's still the best episode of the series. absolutely no contest

    Rosebud: 4

Match 311: Barting Over vs. That 90s Show

Oh god... Two really awful episodes... Barting Over is just a huge mess of an episode. Pretty much everything about it is complete nonsense like the emancipation of a 10 year old, Tony Hawk living in the same apartement as Bart (what he's even doing in such a poor neighborhood in the first place ?) or the skateboards fight. Also, did Bart really expected that Homer would have saved all the money after all these years ?

That 90s Show's execution is simply horrendous. Not only does it destroy the Simpsons continuity, but it also chooses to let events happening that could impossibly take place at the same moment in reality. Why do you need to make a fucking reference about Bill Clinton or Futurama or a season 7 Seinfeld episode when Kurt Cubain is still alive ? And the invention of grunge is a 80s event, not 90s. Wtf ? It just comes out as lazy and careless (hey lets just trow in every 90s reference we can find, who cares about historically correct ?). It's a flashback episode, not a trilogy episode, the story has to be believable, so therefore the setting must be correct. And if you want to make a tribute episode, do it right. Treat your topic with some respect.
Actually, the Simpsons didn't even needed a 'tribute to the 90s' in the first place since the series was deeply part of the 90s culture anyway. And don't let me start about the story.
Every aspect of this episode is just downright awful.

A match up between an episode with a bad plot and pointless guest star matched up against a borefest that tries to stuff as many painful 90s gags in as possible in its timeframe... hmmm... both are absolutely awful, but I'll take Barting Over only because I like Tony Hawk.

Never realized Barting Over was so disliked i always saw it as a simply decent episode and forgettable at worst. I don´t mind the continuity stuff in That´s 90´s Show but i do find it to be a really boring episode.

I remember 0 things from Pranks and Greens and I remember the dog from Lastest Gun so:

The Lastest Gun In The West: 6
    Pranks and Greens: 4

King-Size might not have as strong of a plot compared to Badman but goddamn it's funny.

    Homer Badman: 6
    King-Size Homer: 5

    obv

The Computer Wore Menace Shoes: 7
    The D'ohcial Network: 1

For all its faults, Hail Mary Pass is decently funny. I still like the first Super Bowl halftime show joke and you can't stop me

Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass: 5
    The Boys of Bummer: 2

What exactly is the point of making a one-sided match? Like...there was no chance Third Grade was going to win this.

    Lisa Gets an 'A': 6
Bart vs. Lisa vs. the Third Grade: 0

Just cause Part Two builds from the greatness of Part One doesn't mean it can't be great on its own. I love the way it puts together three completely logical cases against three different suspects.

Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part Two): 3
    Rosebud: 5

Barting Over sucks. Contrived way to start a Bart/Homer conflict and a nonsensical skateboard thing at the end. That 90s Show may break all continuity but I think it tells a decent story. As latter-day eps come and go it's completely inoffensive.

    Barting Over: 4
    That 90s Show: 1

I'm not typically one to defend a season 19 episode, but That 90's Show is probably one of the only Season 19 episodes that I don't dislike as much as everyone else. It's still a terrible episode (mostly because Marge is horribly characterized), but Stefane August is an amusing caricature, so the episode at least has that going for it. Barting Over just makes no sense.

Bart Sells His Soul is a fantastic episode that is uniquely dark and surreal, and one of the more sophisticated episodes of the show, given its subject matter and the fact that it approaches it seriously, which also contributes to the genuine feeling of anxiety the episode produces. It is just outside my top 10, although it probably does deserve to be in my top 10. Bart the Murderer, however, is unquestionably in my Top 10. Fat Tony is one of the best characters ever made by the Simpsons (even if he is mostly a stereotype), and he is flawless here. I might also call this Bart's best characterization (it is at least way up there). I love the idea of a 10-year old inadvertently joining the mafia, which given the era of the show this occured in, was pretty out-there for a premise. But the writers used it to its full potential, without divorcing it from the relatability of the show (I mean, the situations Bart finds himself in in this episode are very relatable, especially in allegorical sense). Furthermore, it has one of the most sheerly entertaining and engaging plots of the series, and like Bart Sells His Soul, it makes a great use of atmosphere. I love both of these of episodes, but in addition to that I probably like it slightly more, Bart the Murder is extremely underrated.

Both great episodes but Bart Sells His Soul is a top 10-20 episode for me where Bart The Murderer just falls outside my top 50 or so.

I'm always disappointed by Skinner's explanation in Bart the Murderer, it's not very logical. Otherwise it's a brilliant episode.

    Bart the Murderer: 1
    Bart Sells His Soul: 6

Sweets and Sour Marge's plot is maybe too disjointed to my tastes. On the other hand it's one of the funniest episodes from the Early Jean Era. But I will go for Heartbroke Kid just because it has a better plot.

Sweets and Sour Marge is very forgettable and has never made any impression on me. The only thing that I really remember from it is the fact that Judge Snyder essentially behaves like a dictator (which the episode itself references in a pathetic attempt to excuse the fact that none of it makes any sense).
