Simpsorama (the comic) was released in 1996, so it's unrelated to Futurama. Simpsorama (the Futurama crossover episode) is a combination of "Simpson" and "Futurama".

I have plenty of things to say about the Simpsons/Futurama crossover that are more insightful/relevant, but they all pale in comparison to how much I love the posts of @simpsonsbart. He/she never fails to crack me up. Chapeau!

Maurice La Marche posted on facebook he just got done doing some voice acting for this episode and hinted it's spoofing Gilligan's Island.

He probably deleted the post. Who knows?

EDIT: Also, I read somewhere that this episode will have some scenes taken from the Simpsons/Futurama Crossover comics.

but for that theory to work, you'd have to assume the writers are aware bongo comics exists. and that would just be silly

When I tried to use the "share" function I got an alert telling me "Some people may not be able to see this attachment because of its privacy settings" It's probably only visible to his friends.

Here's a screenshot of the message:

Didn't the writers exclaim the lameness of Bongo comics in one of the commentaries?

Yeah, because of the "Gilligan's Island meets the_____" movies back in the day.
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

I tried watching a new episode the Simpsons, but I realized the show hit a new low, like a brand new, underground parking structure of sadness.

Based on the Lil' Homer comic I randomly decided to buy recently after not having read a Simpsons comic in many years, I'd say they most likely are producing better quality stuff than the writer of the show are.
    How to remaster

I think they should do another ''Who Shot Mr Burns'' with this crossover. Which would mean the crossover will be 2 episodes, the first being aired as season 25's finale, and the second being aired as season 26's premiere. It could create a lot of hype among the fans of how the crossover will end.

I'd be extremely dissapointed if its just gonna be one rushed down episode

Speaking of Who Shot Mr. Burns, how awesome would it be if Oakley and Weinstein wrote the Simpsons/Futurama crossover. I feel like that would make the most sense.

Would it be that bad if Simpsorama was considered canon? Futurama is set in the year 3000, ofcourse you can expect unrealistic things like giant talking crabs to be friends with humans. Futurama is actually way more realistic thans FG, thats a crossover that should never be canon to both shows

Exactly how? He made a reference without any specifications to something I have no knowledge about. You can't understand a joke about a show you know nothing about.

because it's not specifically referencing anything at all about the show and the joke is that it's clearly not anything even close to what the basic idea of being trapped on an island

The plot of Simpsorama obviously has nothing in common with the plot of Gilligan's Island, thus why LaMarche made the random joke.

If he was just being random, then that explain why I didn't get it.
