Actually, no. That's one of those "rules" that isn't actually a rule. It's perfectly fine to end a sentence with one as long as a verb precedes it.

Yep. Especially is the grammar portions.

Oh yes. Here's the word I find misspelled the most often on here: "Whoa." IT IS NOT "WOAH." I think I see it spelled incorrectly more than I see it correctly.

Over here, you'd be surprised just how useless such knowledge is in English class. We don't study grammar at all.

Yeah, I saw that and it reminded me to put that in here.

Wow, that's sad. I'm not as good when it comes to the literature portions. The stuff that requires inferences and symbolic thinking...my literal mind just can't do that.

I miss spelling...God, how I miss spelling. Coming four places away from the National Spelling Bee is still my crowning achievement in life.

You obviously didn't make it to any apostrophe bees.

that's pretty good. i made a few kids cry because i placed higher. i felt like a jerk because i did better. later (in high school), i realized i was smarter than most of them so i did not feel bad anymore.

In 8th grade (the last year one can be in a spelling bee) I lost in the school bee to a girl who actually came one place away from going to the national bee during the year I came four places away (The girl who went to the national bee that year whom I competed against actually ended up winning the national bee). Afterward, I ran to the nurse's office and cried because my dream was shattered.

Yeah, I can never watch the national bee. It also affects my enjoyment of I'm Spelling as Fast as I Can (which I've mentioned before).

I've never been in a formal spelling bee competition. I consider myself an awful memorizer as well as an awful guesser.

Spelling bees aren't really popular here, but in our region, we have an annual competition for years 5 through 8 in which teams of four compete against each other in a spelling-oriented competition. I was in it all four years I was eligible and won it twice.

The reason I'm good at spelling is my memory. I wouldn't have lasted a second in the national bee because I never knew much about word origins. I've been told I have a memory in the 99th percentile, and if I've ever seen a word, I know how to spell it. But since I've pretty much never seen any of the words in the national bee, I wouldn't have a chance.

Studying foreign languages increases your understanding of English by a surprising margin.

My brain is more oriented towards geography and spacial work rather than memorizing. Of my five years of competing in geography challenge, I've made it in the top five at the provincial level three times but I've never made it high enough to continue on to the nationals.

I can only study words off of my SATs list.

I got second in my school geography bee every year, and every year I lost to the same brilliant kid. He was on Teen Jeopardy either last year or the year before. That's just not fair.

I started reading when I was three. I never watched TV. I loathed it, actually. When I did something wrong, my mom wouldn't let me read for the rest of the day. I'm not joking.
