pushed a woman into 9/11
super dude dammit!

i thought this one was lost, since it never made its way to any home video release, but i found out earlier this year that it wasn't. the AGFA played it at their Endangered Fest, so there is a 35mm print out there. been hoping for a dvd announcement ever since, but i fear that won't ever come.

Still haven't seen any of these. I've seen loads of movies since making this post, but not any of these.
It's weird but I kinda save good movies until I've got the perfect situation to view them in. Most importantly is a block of time to watch it without being disturbed and that's more difficult the longer the movie.

I've only seen Borderline off of this list. It was one of the best I'd ever seen so i'm happy even tho this list remains the same. I think I have all of these downloaded tho so I will get to all of them eventually. But at least 3 of them are 4+ hours.

I'm Bartman.
Been thinking about knocking out some of the Miyazakis recently because I am still an anime philistine. What would be a good starting point? Totoro?
(I'm not starting with Grave of the Fireflies.)
I really admire animation, so I've been thinking about knocking out a lot of the major stuff I've missed over the past few years. Maybe get to some of the Pixars I missed (Brave, Monsters University) and see stuff like Frozen and The Lego Movie and stuff. Could be decent reviewing material.

I've only knocked out one (The Iron Giant), and it was about two weeks ago. Mostly because I saw it at Meijer for only $4.99 and figured why not. I have trouble fitting movies into my schedules these days... They tend to eat up free time pretty quickly.

I'm a real user of women
I'm fortunate to have lots of free time
recently got pvr which has been a godsend
ill have 16 movies recorded in the first month where before i would simply miss them because of my funny work hours
as for where to start with anime... i'm afraid i have no idea
i can't remember ever watching a japanese movie. not even the basics like kurosawa or godzilla
should probably rectify that at some point

totoro is a great place to start with miyazaki, but honestly almost all of his work is so likable and accessible that you can't really go wrong with any of his features. i think the majority of them are incredible. howl's moving castle and ponyo are the only two that i'm not over the moon about.
also, grave of the fireflies is an isao takahata film.

Oh yeah, you're right. I forget sometimes that Studio Ghibli isn't just Miyazaki.
Thanks for the recommendation!

I'm not a Woody Allen fan and I don't even like the characters in Annie Hall or sympathize with them, but I'll be damned if the ending monologue to that movie doesn't make me cry every. Single. Time. It just so perfectly sums up the nostalgic pain that comes with a breakup and loss, and why a person might want another relationship.
My movies:
American Beauty
Batman Forever (yes, seriously, I want to see this movie)
The Incredible Hulk
Hulk (the Ang Lee version)
Brokeback Mountain
Antman
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (this is a bit of a cheat since I've only watched part of the film)
Cool Cat Saves The Kids (lol)
Jackie Brown
The X-Files: I Want to Believe

Totoro is a good starting point for Miyazaki, but as said by thief his work is largely accessible and most of it qualifies. I started with Princess Mononoke for instance and got hooked immediately.
