usually i'm ok with bitesized creed moments but i kinda wanted to hear more of that conversation. he is such a mysterious man

the cold open was great. i loved the flashbacks, like seeing roz (is that her name?) the old receptionist again. she was oddly enough wearing the same clothes she wore in the one episode she was in. was she only receptionist for one day? and also pam with her old hair and clothes.

the rest of the episode was alright. not the best of the season but passable. seeing ryan get owned by jim was pretty great. he's getting more and more smug by the week despite having no real reason to be. what's with his clothes also?

one small thing that annoys me is that most of the time pam and jim do talking heads together. i don't know why this bothers me but it does. the one pam solo talking head was good

Seeing Jim defeat Ryan was pretty satisfying.

Also Charles was cast in Thor as some badass Asgardian apparently, sweet.

I liked it a lot. Seeing Jim knock down Ryan a peg was the kind of thing I've been waiting awhile for. And the shareholder tension was genuinely compelling. The Michael/Dwight/Andy/Oscar camaraderie is fun to watch as well.

Eh, didn't really like last night's. Dwight's recycling opener and his final lines in the episode just didn't make me laugh like they should have, and this episode had a depressing tone to it, with Dunder Mifflin suffering from beginning to end. I also remember not liking the Holly/Michael break-up episode, partly because it coincidencially aired at the time I was going through the same thing, but this one kind of put me in the same mood. I wish I would have been more observant with the old stuff during the flashbacks in the beginning.

Overall wasn't the greatest. Jim passively aggressively bitch slapping Ryan was pretty great. I loved Pam and Jim discussing whether he's screamed or not. He was happy to find the car!

To be honest, I don't think John Krasinski can yell (convincingly). Every time I can remember he has on the show it's been in short bursts and kind of forced.

Both John Krasinski and Jim Halpert seem pretty chill, but I was kind of looking forward to seeing Jim explode on Ryan. Maybe later down the line.

I really don't see Jim as a yeller. Or someone who could fire anyone but I guess it would be impossible to fire Ryan anyway, because as soon as Michael would find out he'd hire Ryan right back.

I like the Michael/Dwight/Andy dynamic, but throwing in Oscar works as well. The limo was great, as was the last shot, with the four of them rushing out into the limo and celebrating while we see DMI plummet.

yea i think one of the strong points of jim's character is that he's intelligent enough that he doesn't have to yell. he can deal with someone like ryan (who's always been a douchebag anyway) in a witty and effective way without ever being overbearing. if he ever starts screaming at people just because he's co-manager now i think that would take a lot away from his character.

which is one reason why i was surprised to see jim go through the whole 'raise your hand if you think michael has more power than me' speech. i liked the way that he ultimately handled ryan though. good stuff.

part of me wanted to see michael surprise everyone by excelling at the q&a. i think that would have been more interesting (come on, who didn't see him spilling the beans about the limo coming?). david wallace has to be the most incompetent cfo ever if he brought michael all that way for a hand gesture and then was surprised when michael began fielding questions and making an ass out of himself. i guess that's why dmi is circling the drain though.

an ok episode overall. highlights were drunk phyllis and dwight's closing speech about the lines. i thought the cold opening was terrible.

i want to see more oscar in the future. he was great this week.

I love when they match up people that aren't typically matched up, like the limo gang

Yeah that was really bad. It just seemed too over the top even for Dwight.

i agree about the cold open, except it was sort of saved for me with all the callbacks they put in it. still sucked though.

pretty solid episode though, i felt so bad for michael when he looked at the camera walking out to thunderous boos at the shareholders meeting

this was the best ep of the season and for once I agree totally of what IGN said about this episode, plus this ep proves once again that oscar is a underrated character

For some reason I forgot Ryan was the recep. I smiled. I used to love Ryan's little awkward looks at the camera.

Mm, yeah, that's true. At the same time though, whenever Jim gets into his serious mode nowadays, I feel like there's a certain level of unpredictability and tension. He's actually raised his voice at Michael a couple times this season, and snapped at a couple other characters (like Angela). It probably would be unreasonable for him to start going nuts over Ryan being lazy, but the guy has shown that he does have a couple of things that'll hit a nerve (like getting screwed over financially like in the second ep this season, now that he has to provide for a family, and overly-personal things regarding Pam).

i think he has the right to stand up for himself from time to time, even by raising his voice. there just has a be a good balance and a keen sense of when to make him a more forceful leader and when not to. and in dealing with ryan that was definitely one of those 'when not to' times. if it's within his character to handle a situation without yelling at someone then the writers shouldn't make him. sometimes michael needs to be talked at loudly. so far i think the writers have done a pretty good job handling his character as co-manager. i've enjoyed that story arc so far.
