Do you still play "Bart vs The Space Mutants" on your old NES? Do you still like "Do the Bartman"?

In my country, we had the game before the first season of the series was showed on TV. Same goes for the videoclip "Do the Bartman". Pretty weird way to be introduced to the Simpsons. The game was subpar, but I liked the first and the third stage. It made me think of Dr. Marvin Monroe as a bad guy, because he was the villain in one of the last levels.

first level: Nelson
second level:Babysitter-bandit
third level: Sideshow Bob

Bart Vs The Space Mutants is mentioned in the thread title, isn't that also what cinco's post had to do with? It mentioned a game as well as Do the Bartman

Yeah, I know but as cinco didn't think to seperate both subjects. I agree with RD that this goes in general discussion.

Actually with cinco's thread making rep, merging two subjects into one thread was quite generous of her/him.

I used to have an NES and I loved it! But I don't remember a Bart game for it. I would like to play it, though, if I still had the system. I like the Bartman, too.

Never played Bart vs The Space Mutants but I still listen to Do The Bartman and I still like it. But I think Deep, Deep Trouble is a better song.

I never knew "Deep, Deep Trouble" until I bought the season 2 DVD's.
"Deep, Deep Trouble" is a great, great song. And the videoclip: nice!

I played the game before I knew anything about the Simpsons. (Ok, I knew "Do the Bartman", but that was it. Sometimes it sucks to be European) So in level 1, I made the prank-call and a tall guy with a mustache comes out of Moe's bar and chases me. And until I saw the series, I thought that tall guy with the mustache was Moe.

I Would play "BVTSM" if my NES still worked, and I occasionally still listen to "Do The Bartman" (& like Green Man, the last time I saw/heard it was also when Michael Jackson died).

Wow, that's interesting. You're right now... in Europe, we always get left behind! lol. But yeah, the first thing I ever saw to do with The Simpsons was the actual series. I started watching it around... it would've been season 7.

Skip this if you already read this in "the real gateway"-thread, but it is also relevant for this thread.

If you can, try to watch the episode "The Telltale Head", the videoclip "Do The Bartman" and play the first level of the game "Bart vs. The Space Mutants". You feel the cohesion and synergy between 3 different media,
and that already in the beginning of "The Simpsons"-life span.
I was astonished by it when I was a kid and it is present in little hidden things.
That's why I also refer to the Candy-most-Dandy-shop as an example. In the videogame, you have to remove all the purple stuff in the first level. The Candy-most-Dandy shop has purple elements in the game, but yesterday I noticed it had those elements also in "The Telltale Head" and in "Do the Bartman". In the videogame, the paint turns the purple stuff red and guess what... in the intro, used in the second season, that red look is also present.
