I used to like Family Guy, but nowadays I just find it boring, all the episodes just blend together as the only good thing about them is the jokes, which are constantly repeated every season, American Dad is a bit better as it's more story driven but not much.

Because it's a stupid show. I actually get annoyed when people compare FG to South Park. Family Guy can only dream that it's similiar to South Park in any shape or form!

from what i've seen of it, i kinda respect south park and appreciate what it does, but i just don't find it funny at all really (apart from a few hilarious episodes eg. cartoon wars).

family guy is almost the opposite, it's a real lazy show which i don't exactly "respect" per se... but i do end up laughing at it, even if it is like once an episode (not that i'm a fan of the show or anything, 'cos the style does kinda grate on me sometimes... but i do sometimes laugh)

I used to like it when I was younger. Now I find it really tough to sit through, honestly.

I haven't seen any of the old episodes in a long time, however, so I can't really tell if it's my changing tastes or the show declining.

Family Guy is ridiculously popular, that's why. I just started moving in to a shared apartment and found out the only DVDs my new roommate owns are Family Guy. It currently sits next to a case of beer. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but you can see where I'm going with this: those who usually like Family Guy are the ones who don't like alt comedy, which is where much of the ire is derived from.

I personally enjoy the first four seasons of the show. They were funny, they were a part of my adolescence and to this day I can still enjoy them. The actual show is way, way more miss than hit, but I do appreciate that unlike a certain other long-running animated series, they take risks. Many failures in that category as well, yes, but still it's nice to see.

I'd take Season 80 Simpsons over Season 5 plus Family Guy the vast majority of the time. But I think in general it is just more fun to criticize anything, certainly when you can remain anonymous like on a message board...though that's really nothing new.

I feel like I need to correct you.....Brian ate Steiwe's shit because Steiwe didn't want to get a diaper rash from sitting in it for so long while they were trapped.

Pretty much how I feel. But in order for me to enjoy seasons 4-5 it took my friend giving me the DVDs for my birthday. I really disliked them when they first aired.

I dont watch it at all anymore; more of an American Dad fan. But every once in awhile I see a random gag that crab ks me up. I enjoy FG a lot more as random clips than full episodes lately.

Well, kinda. Every episode involved the family getting hit by a hurricane. As usual, the American Dad one was the best, and the only thing really "crossover" about it was 30 seconds at the end.
