Make up your own Treehouse of Horror segment.

Remake of a Twilight Zone episode? Sci-fi / horror film parody? Taking on piece a classic literature, like The Raven, Kafka's Metamorphosis, The Illustrated Man or The Island of Dr. Moreau? Something Kang and Kodos-y? Perhaps an original creation entirely original creation, or a mash-up of the above motifs?

Here's an incredibly brief outline of a THOH episode of the top of my head.

The episode opens with Kang and Kodos answering Horror related movie trivia slides while eating popcorn out of Homer's hollowed out, severed head (You can throw in some jokes about the "Friday the 13th" or "Nightmare on Elm street" reboots)

    First story:
A parody of "Battle Royale" with students of Springfield Elementary in which Principal Skinner forces them to fight to the death because it's the "Only practical option" (They can't afford to keep every student due to budget cuts and expelling them would be worse for the schools reputation than a series of deaths in Skinner's eyes).

    Second story:
The Simpsons get lost in an ancient ruin and are caught up in a brutal ongoing war between Kang and Kodos in a parody of "Aliens Vs. Predator".

    Third story:
Lisa has a vision of a horrible tragedy at a new (And poorly constructed) amusement park and tries to save the endangered citizens in a parody of "Final Destination 3".

The closing credits show Kang and Kodos taking off into space from the movie theater parking lot and criticize the first and third stories before asking each others opinions on how they looked in the second.

I'd like to see an animated version of 'Dark Lisa', a Halloween comic which I got my profile picture from. It takes a lot from Stephen King's 'Carrie', and basically Lisa gets superpowers and destroys Springfield elementary and kills everyone inside. I chose this comic over others because it has some really awesome graphics which would look great animated.

If only they brought in "guest artists" for the Halloween episodes like for the comics; it helps elevate those specific issues above the rest of Simpsons Comics and sometimes even turn out, in my opinion, better than some of the more recent THOH episodes. I liked John K.'s guest couch gag, but I wouldn't mind seeing art direction from someone else for at least one THOH segment. Cool picture of Lisa, though; I don't think I've seen that comic you're referring to specifically. I think I only have one THOH comic issue.

I wonder how well guest artists would work for the show though, Emulating their imagery is one thing, but the animators who are accustomed to the simpons might find it difficult to change the actual animation style. I suppose it could be viable if they only did for a single THOH segment, it's certainly an interesting idea and would be pretty awesome if it worked.

It worked for Family Guy - excellently, I might add. They outsourced the animation to another studio to animate a part in the style of Walt Disney. I think animating in the style of another artist would work in a broader sense (like the assumption that all things "Disney" or "anime" are animated exactly the same), but The Simpsons has done it before in shorter spurts (think the segment from "Catch 'Em if You Can"). They've even included classical paintings, like "The Persistence of Memory", sometimes going so far as to include the characters in the paintings.

A segment where Bart gets sucked into a video game where each level gets harder and harder, maybe a segment where the family enters a parallel universe where they aren't accepted as citizens because of their differences

I had always wanted to see a Treehouse of Horror segment delving deeper into Matt Groening's original plan (that was later scrapped due to inconsistencies among other things) that it would be revealed Marge had rabbit ears (a la "Life in Hell") under her large hair. I had written fan fiction THOH years ago with that plot, but I can't find it. I always thought that it would have been interesting to be seen in a non-canon episode.

    My THOH:

The episode opens with the Simpsons house who became haunted. Homer heats the wood to the fireplace, and the fireplace approaches him, he is burnt. Marge washes his hands and faucet brings out much water, which drowns her. Lisa brushes his teeth with an electric toothbrush, the toothbrush electrocutes her. Bart and Maggie, seeing what happened, commit suicide with a knife.

    First segment:

Bart, angry at his parents, wants the children dominate adults. Entering a wishes machine, he turns him and all the other children into adults, and adults into children.

    Second segment:

Mayor Quimby is assassinated by a mysterious man. 2 days after, several citizens are killed too. Marge, accompanied by the remaining citizens, decide to investigate.

    Third segment:

Due to incorrect handling, the Simpsons family finds itself in a parallel dimension where there is everything except what they like.

The ending shows the Simpsons family and others saying this Halloween episode is finished and if the audience liked it.

I'd like to see a see a segment were Springfield is terrorized by a maniac imitating the killings from Itchy and Scratchy episodes. Perhaps make it a parody of Scream or The Dead Pool. And that could also open up for a lot of inventive and over-the-top deaths. Have people get killed with chainsaws, dynamite, anvils etc.

    Opening

Bart, Milhouse and Nelson knock on a door wearing their Halloween outfits. They are surprised when Kang and Kodos open the door. The two aliens hand the children candy as they walk off eating it. As the aliens watch on the kids explode causing the words "Treehouse of Horror" to spell out across the screen in body parts...

    "House of the Crazy"

During a horrible, stormy night the family are up watching TV. An urgent news bulletin by Kent Brockman describes an horrific volcanic irruption miles away that could spill over and cover the entire town. The Simpsons don't panic as Homer had the house 'lava protected' "just in case". As the town head to Church to ask for forgiveness from God, Homer accidentally lets slip that his house is protected. Soon enough the whole town turn up to use the house to stay safe. With everyone hunched together people soon start to argue over stupid, little things due to cabin fever. Lisa tells everyone to calm down as Homer "heads out for a beer" opening the doors and flooding the house with the lava and burning everyone alive.

They're not the most original ideas, I know that, but I do know I'd rather see them than a farting, paralyzed Homer, a cheap Avatar parody or whatever the hell the other segment was...
