Wow, really tough choice between Lisa the Treehugger and The Squirt and the Whale...
But I finally voted for The Squirt and the Whale.

Mr. Burns is given a good treatment in The Old Man and the Lisa, but The Squirt and the Whale suits me better somehow - the cute ending, Homer's heroism and especially Lisa's relationship with the whale and how it's treated.

All are good examples of Lisa episodes (maybe with the exception of "The Burns and The Bees") I'd say that "The Squirt and the Whale" has the best environmental message but "The Old Man and the Lisa" is, overall, a better episode...

"The Old Man and the Lisa" > "The Squirt and the Whale" > "Lisa the Treehugger" > "The Burns and the Bees"

    Hmm...

    The Squirt and The Whale-
Episode Reasons - This was actually a damn good episode. It had not only a emotional plotline but somewhat of a tragic one, even most of the jokes worked pretty well, and it ended with a little heartmelter, pretty well like a real SImpson Episode rather than going towards a random ending for the laughs.
Environmental Reasons: Not only it showed them protecting Whales but it showed a friendly bond between Lisa and The Whale itself, reminds me of Lisa's horse back in the classic days, but unlike that episode where the friendly bond is destroyed because of bills, this friendly bond ended because the Whale was dying. Some fans even had a little tear in their eye when they saw it... well, at least that's what they said in the forums.

The Old Man and Lisa -
Episode Reasons: It's the first story where a family members succeeds in changing Burns's new lifestyle into a completely kind direction... until it's proven that he really was evil the whole time, hell, even Mr. Burns didn't realized that.
Environmental Reasons: Yes, it shows an evil man from Nuclear Power turning to Environmental Power... shows the Pros and Cons of the Environment. A good episode.

    Lisa The Treehugger -
Episode Reasons: This was somewhat disappointing yet somewhat interesting at the same time. At first it started with well... Lisa having crush with a boy which didn't really have much of a impact on the story, but the interesting part was everyone thinking Lisa was dead when really she was alive the whole time.
Environmental Reasons: Yeah... well... this had less of a focus on Environmental Issues, in fact, it seemed like a minor aspect of the plot and it focused rather on Lisa's crush and fake death. I mean sure, their's the large tree in danger and all but if you think about it, that was trying to start another subject of the storyline, Lisa's fake death, and it didn't seem to matter to many people later on, and than later it ended with a catchy song, to me I thought the ending was "meh", inbetween positive and negative responses.

The Burns and The Bees -
Episode Reasons: I thought the idea of hostile bees were original... though they could've done better with just the right script, plus if anything, I think the two ideas of Mr. Burns owning a basketball team and Lisa's Bees can be separated into two proper-well made episodes... with the right script and plot.
Environmental Reasons - It started okay with the bees but than the whole environmental thing just didn't mattered anymore afterwards, pretty much goof and laughs with no real plot afterwards, love the Bumblebee Man joke though.

Anyway here's how I list it.
1st place - The Old Man and Lisa - Witty Humor, showed a change of heart for the old man for a short time, and showed how environmentalism can be both friendly... and in some cases... deadly.
2nd place - The Squirt and The Whale - Reminded me of Lisa's friendship with her horse, except that unlike the horses friendship took off because of bills, this one was because the Whale was dying.
3rd Place - Lisa The Treehugger - The Ending was random but a catchy song, plus the fake death of Lisa was an interesting side to the story.
4th Place - The Burns and The Bees - ... Meh.

I voted "The Squirt and the whale". But generally in the environment episodes, it's nice seeing how dedicated Lisa can be.

I'll be one of the exceptions and vote for Lisa the Treehugger.

The Squirt and the Whale was one of the best episodes in the past few years, but obviously The Old Man and the Lisa is far superior.
