    Favorite Matt Groening-related game (poll)

I write "Matt Groening-related" so I can include Futurama. Forgive me if this kind of post's been done before, but there have been a few good games released in the past few years starring OFF. What's your favorite and why?

The Simpsons Hit & Run. It's so deep, there's so much to do and so much to find. But since it's not a choice, Road Rage.

I've always wanted to play the Futurama game, that's the only one one I haven't played.

Anyways my favorite, as is nearly everyone's it seems, is Simpsons Arcade. I like Hit and Run quite a bit as well, as well as Road Rage, and even though the quality isn't great on some of these, I do like Bart's Nightmare, Virtual Bart, Krusty's (Super) Fun House, The Itchy and Scratchy Game, Bart Simpson's Escape from Camp Deadly, and Bart Vs The Space Mutants.

I agree hit and run is awesome, I didn't stop until I found every suit, every car and killed all the camera bees.

I voted Virtual Bart because is a good memory of my childhood, The Simpsons game is good too and I never like Road Rage

That game is universally known as the worst of the worst.

I have Simpsons Wrestling. I actually didn't find it that bad. It can be fun at times. Although I never understood what Homer eating the donuts did.

Both Simpsons Wrestling and the Arcade game have strong nostalgic value for me. But in my old age, I'd probably say The Simpsons Game is probably the better game.

The Simpsons Game was a bitter disappointment. Hit and Run was definitely the best.

I'm sorry; I meant to include Hit & Run but am not able to add it in when I try to re-edit my post. I'm surprised and happy at the same time that someone is showing the love for Simpsons Wrestling; it's been universally panned, yes, but it goes to show that every game can be liked by at least someone. I played through The Simpsons Game on the Wii but found it a bit more fun on the DS, although I know the PS3 / 360 versions are a bit more expanded upon. My favorite would be Hit & Run with The Simpsons Game at a close second. I could never get very far in Virtual Bart.

Futurama is noteworthy for how well it sticks to its source material, including writing and VO by the show's staff. The game's character models don't look good (not because they didn't try, just that the characters look strange in 3D to begin with); if only the gameplay weren't so derivative and the controls so stiff.

Hit and Run was the best. Road Rage was the absolute worst because of the awful loading times after every race. So many of my amazing childhood memories come from playing Simpsons Arcade Game.

I liked Road Rage, but yeah, it took forever to load.

hit & run, by far! fond, fond memories of that game, old and new.

although the simpsons game did have its merits such as some nice dialogue, cool animated cut scenes and a variety of themed levels, the basic gameplay was boring and the camera/controls were dodgy. it's been quite a few years since a console simpsons game - do you think there will be another and if so, when?

The Simpsons Hit and Run is by far the best Simpsons game. Why is it not on the list?

Simpsons Arcade Game. Me and some friends in high school spent a bunch of money and beat the game co-opt during a school trip. Mr. Burns is an incredibly cheap final boss.

Also The Simpsons Game, Hit & Run, and Road Rage are fun too. Hit & Run's my favorite of the three, though. The Simpsons Game has some pretty wonky platforming and lame/repetitive puzzles, but the look of the game is really nice with the cell-shading. And the cutscenes alone are worth the price of admission. Almost a whole episode's worth of hand-drawn animation in that thing. Road Rage is fun, just for the sake of how large the levels are to drive around in. Multi-player is great too.

I always thought the Arcade game was a nostalgia fest, because I didn't grow up with it, so I didn't like it. Though I could be completely wrong about that though.

  25. #24

Bart vs. The Space Mutants, hands down.

It's a classic challenging platformer, with some awesome items, and I've managed to beat it several times.

Granted, it's the only Simpsons game I've played from start to finish, but I like my challenges old-school. The 8-bit NES generation deserves its recognition.

I've also played Bart's Nightmare (SNES), and the original Simpsons Arcade game, but didn't get far. Didn't enjoy them as much as the original NES game.
