    Favorite/least favorite "Neo-Simpsons" episode titles

Feel free to elaborate on what you like/dislike rather than just rattling off titles.

    Good:
    Future Drama
    Flaming Moe
Boy Meets Curl is kind of good in one of those "It's such a stupid attempt it's funny" ways
    That 90s Show
    Tis the Fifteenth Season
    A Star is Torn
    Brawl in the Family

As for bad, I hate the references to very obscure plays or works because they feel like the writers searched IMDB for titles with words that rhyme with the word they want to insert in a title. "Oh, I found this 1924 Croatian silent film we can reference!" Yeah, okay, good work. Also I hate when they do a pun on a dictionary term, so they have to make the title sound like they're referencing a movie when they're really not. Examples: Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass, Marge's Son Poisoning. Then I hate when they try to match long/short vowel sounds in puns rather than find rhymes that click, such as Girls Just Want to Have Sums.

    Other abominations:
Homerazzi just takes the -azzi suffix and does not work on any level
Little Orphan Millie - since when was he ever Millie?
Coming to Homerica - same situation as Homerazzi
The Food Wife - Good/Food do not rhyme, right? Me fail English?

"There's a couple of things they don't teach you in Harvard Business School. One is how to cope with defeat; the other is how to handle a shotgun. I'm going to do both right now."

Milhouse has called himself "Millie" before - once, I think. S10's Lard of the Dance (which is also a clever episode title, I think).
    I also like:

Mobile Homer (a simple play on words)
Simpsons Christmas Stories (one of the few newer episode titles that isn't a pun)
Yokel Chords (a clever title for a mediocre episode)
Bart Gets a Z (a nice callback to Lisa Gets an A and Bart / Bart's Dog Gets an F)

    Worst offenders:

The Heartbroke Kid (I'd understand if it was because of a breakup of Bart's, but no, it was because he had a heart attack. Get it? His heart's broke.)
Mypods and Boomsticks (I've never heard dynamite be called "boomsticks"; it just feels like they're trying too hard)
Sex, Pies and Idiot Scrapes (What is an idiot scrape?)
A Totally Fun Thing That Bart Will Never Do Again (It's based on the title of a book from a few decades back, but it's an unfitting and awkward title. Was the "fun thing" going on a cruise? It wasn't just Bart that went on the cruise. Was it begging the family to go on the cruise, or was it Bart ruining the cruise with that DVD prank? Those things aren't totally fun.)

    Best: Homer the Father
Worst: eh...I don't have that much time to cut'n paste.
Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

Homer the Father is certainly one of the best for once I agree with the honorable Jake.

As for worst I don't care for Husbands and Knives because it reminds me that episode exists...

For worst, how about anything where they re-use a pun. I'm looking at you, Loan-A Lisa, Mona Leaves-A and Moe N'a Lisa. Also, Million Dollar Maybe, O Brother, Where Bart Thou? and Take My Life, Please/Brake My Wife, Please.

    Now just terrible titles:

"Love is a Many Strangled Thing" (In what universe does "strangled" even remotely sound like "splendored"? At least they got it somewhat right with the Season 24 title, even though it is a repeat.)
"He Loves to Fly and He D'ohs" (I can't even tell what this is supposed to be. He loves to fly and he does? He loves to fly and he goes? Someone help me out here.)
"Smoke on the Daughter" (This is just a very good example at trying too hard for a pun. This sounds like Lisa's caught in a fire or something.)

As for best, there's Trilogy of Error, Fraudcast News, 24 Minutes, My Fair Laddy, and Half-Decent Proposal.
Favourite/least favourite by seasons that I own (somewhat stolen from Financial Panther):

    3 - Dog of Death/When Flanders Failed 4 - Lisa's First Word/So it's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show 5 - Secrets of a Successful Marriage/Bart's Inner Child 6 - And Maggie Makes Three/Another Simpsons Clip Show 7 - Marge Be Not Proud/Bart the Fink 8 - Homer's Phobia/The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase 9 - King of the Hill/Trash of the Titans 10 - Wild Barts Can't Be Broken/Maximum Homerdrive

Well D'oh is usually used when someone does a bad thing; therefore I think it means "Homer Flies and He Fails/Makes a Major Mistake".

I always assumed it to be saying "and he does" but I have no idea. Whatever the reference is is just too obscure to warrant a pun in the first place.

I honestly am not bothered by reusing episode titles. In fact I would put Moe'N A Lisa on my list of the good, and Loan-a-Lisa is pretty simplistic and effective, too.

Worst: Elementary School Musical - copied from South Park, and yet has nothing to do with High School Musical, or even Springfield Elementary.

I still think "I've Grown A Costume to Your Face" from THOH XVI is the worst pun the show has ever given us.

I hate when the titles are repeated or forced, like Moe 'n' a Lisa, Mona Leaves-a and Loan-a-Lisa.

    Other annoying forced titles:
    -Rome-old and Juli-eh
    -Sex, Pies, and Idiot Scrapes
-How Munched Is That Birdie in the Window?
-Love Is a Many Strangled Thing

I like these titles but I can see why some people wouldn't:
    -The Seemingly Never-Ending Story
-Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind

As for legitimately good titles, I'd have to think about it, but I agree about Homer the Father.
    Season 24: Moonshine River: C | Treehouse of Horror XXIII: B- | Adventures in Baby-Getting: B+ | Gone Abie Gone: C+ | Penny-Wiseguys: D+ | A Tree Grows in Springfield: C- | The Day the Earth Stood Cool: B+ | To Cur With Love: B+ | Homer Goes to Prep School: C | A Test Before Trying: B- | The Changing of the Guardian: C+ | Love is a Many-Splintered Thing: C | Hardly Kirk-ing: B- | Gorgeous Grampa: B+ | Black-Eyed, Please: B- | Dark Knight Court: B- | What Animated Women Want: C | Pulpit Friction: B- | Whiskey Business: C | The Fabulous Faker Boy: C | The Saga of Carl: B- | Dangers on a Train: B+

    My Season Rankings: 4, 7, 5, 6, 8, 3, 2, 9, 1, 15, 14, 16, 10, 13, 21, 20, 17, 19, 23, 22, 12, 18, 11

I thought the title was "Mypods and Broomsticks". Didn't make sense, but hey, it's better than Boomsticks.

    FUCKING BOOMSTICKS.

I remember there being confusion about the episode title before it was aired. There's "Mypods and Boomsticks" (Lisa becomes addicted to her Mypod, and Homer becomes suspicious of Bart's Muslim friend, whose dad whose profession includes dynamite - boomsticks) and "Rednecks and Broomsticks" (Homer befriends Cletus and goes on a moonshine-tasting tour, while Lisa joins a group of Wiccans - broomsticks - "witches"). I think the eps are only a season apart.

I'm not crazy about when they use D'oh in the titles in general.

He Loves to Fly and He D'ohs: He does? He goes? And it shows? What?

Days of Wine and D'oh-ses: This one drives me crazy because I always think it's supposed to be "doses." Like a dose of alcohol or something. I think that'd be a better title than making "roses" into a nonexistent word anyway.

We're on the Road to D'ohwhere: Another made-up word that doesn't really mean anything.

    And then there're these funkers:

Homer and Marge Turn a Couple Play: What's a "couple play"? Why do they turn it? What the heck...?

Kill Gil, Volumes 1 and 2: Would be a decent enough title, but why in the world is the "Volumes 1 and 2" added?? Has nothing to do with the episode's structure, and the pun is very obvious without that.

Sex, Pies and Idiot Scrapes: Not only is "idiot scrapes" a huge stretch, but it frustrates me that this title can represent the episode better with the simple removal of the comma: "Sex Pies and Idiot Scrapes."
    My Nintendo webcomic,
