    bands you've seen live

don't include opening acts unless they are of note. this is a spotty list of the shows i've been to:

    - warped tour 2004 (featuring BILLY TALENT, FLOGGING MOLLY, and GOOD CHARLOTTE - embarassing)
    - lovely feathers x2 (2006/2007)
    - air
    - beirut/final fantasy
    - the zombies (reunion tour)
    - destroyer
    - magnetic fields x2 (2010/2012)
    - julian casablancas (no strokes, though)
    - elephant six collective holiday surprise tour x2 (in 2008, when jeff mangum resurfaced from the dead - i met him! - and 2011)
    - the arcade fire w/ janelle monae & the sadies
    - bob dylan x2 (2010/2011, and i have tickets to see him twice this fall)
    - jane birkin (performing serge gainsbourg songs, mmm - and in a super-intimate hall right by my apartment)
    - brian wilson solo & the beach boys on their 50th celebration tour

i'm sure there's been more, but those are the highlights

I don't feel ashamed of any of the bands I've seen live. That said, these are the ones I remember:

-the somewhat famous Pop Disaster Tour in 2002(there's a documentary about it called Riding in Vans with Boys), with Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, blink-182, and Kut U Up.
-blink a few more times, including one during their Take off Your Pants and Jacket era, one in 2004 with No Doubt, and just last September here in Virginia Beach.
-I too have seen Good Charlotte, way back in like 2002 with New Found Glory and MxPx.
-AFI several times circa 2002-2004. Last time I saw them was shortly after the release of Decemberunderground.
-Alkaline Trio, not too long after the release of Good Mourning.
-Paramore a few times, the first time being on their very first tour back in 2005.
-Took a road trip to Portland only a few days before my high school graduation to see The Lawrence Arms play. NoFX also played, as well as I want to say Lagwagon.
-Stone Temple Pilots twice on their reunion tour back in 2008, once in Salt Lake, once in Boise.
-A few free shows at Boise State, including Everclear and Reel Big Fish.
-County Fair concerts, like REO Speedwagon or Foreigner.
-Journey, with Def Leppard(this was before Journey had that Filipino singer that sounds exactly like Steve Perry, so it really wasn't that great).

And many small shows by local/regional bands that I can't recall the names of, as well as several Warped Tours(I've seen bands like Bad Religion, Pennywise, NoFX, The Vandals, The Offspring, Fall Out Boy, A7X, and many others this way).

Yeah, I was really into it in my younger years. I still like it somewhat, but I don't listen to it much anymore. I think blink-182 is really the only exception.

Haven't visted many live shows but from what I can recall.

-Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Flo Rida (Powerhouse 2009)
-Arrested Development (A concert in 2009 with non-notable opening acts in a small theater)
    -Busdriver (in Ontario, also 2009)
    -Too Short (Anahiem, 2009)

Really need to get back to seeing live acts but damn are they expensive.

So far, only Def Leppard in... August 2007 I think, Finger Eleven in July 2009, and Goo Goo Dolls in April last year.
Favourite/least favourite by seasons that I own (somewhat stolen from Financial Panther):

    3 - Dog of Death/When Flanders Failed 4 - Lisa's First Word/So it's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show 5 - Secrets of a Successful Marriage/Bart's Inner Child 6 - And Maggie Makes Three/Another Simpsons Clip Show 7 - Marge Be Not Proud/Bart the Fink 8 - Homer's Phobia/The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase 9 - King of the Hill/Trash of the Titans 10 - Wild Barts Can't Be Broken/Maximum Homerdrive

Southwestern area. I saw Goos and Def Leppard in Hamilton, and Finger Eleven in a Beat Rocks the Block concert in downtown Kitchener.

    U2, which was awesome

The other three are kind of too embarrassing to mention but I was a teenager for two of them, and someone else bought a ticket for me for the third one.

I don't recall the specific years, but here's a list (except for Cults, these were seen at the Kingdom Bound music festival):
    Skillet
    Relient K
    John Reuben
Five Iron Frenzy (first show of their Winners Never Quit tour)
    DC Talk
    Audio Adrenaline
    Newsboys
    Pillar
    Thousand Foot Krutch
Cults (at The Phoenix, in Toronto)

    Fleetwood Mac
    The Pretenders
    Blondie
    Echo & the Bunnymen
    The Cure
    Florence & the Machine
    The Clean
    The Bats (twice)
    Flying Lotus
    The Upbeats
    Chris Knox
    The xx
    Cut Off Your Hands
    Bachelorette
    The Chills
    Black Lips
    The Phoenix Foundation
    Shapeshifter
Flight of the Conchords (I don't mean to sound hipster, but I saw them before they were famous in a crowd of about 30 at Bats Theatre here in Wellington)
    Lloyd Cole
    Netsky

There'll be plenty of others, but that's all I can think of at the moment. I would've seen a lot more I'm not thinking of at Rhythm & Vines (a drum and bass/dub/reggae New Years festival). Plus, I'm really gutted I missed seeing the Buzzcocks when they were in New Zealand. Oh, and last year's Laneway Festival. I missed Cults, Glasser, M83, Opossom, Twin Shadow and Washed Out.

EDIT: The Naked and Famous (twice)

    -Skillet (x3)
    -Three Days Grace
    -Seether
    -Avenged Sevenfold
    -Bullet For My Valentine
    -Motley Crue
    -Shinedown

Avenged Sevenfold is one of the bands I wish to see before I die

Looks like I'm going to Soundwave in Australia next year! Metallica, Linkin Park, Blink 182, Paramore, A Perfect Circle, The Offspring, Stonesour, Sum 41, Anthrax, even Dragonforce. This is gonna be so awesome

    Streetlight Manifesto
    The Doobie Brothers
    Steve Miller Band
    Santana
    Modest Mouse
    Panic! At the Disco

And then a good amount of jazz.

Jealous of The Doobie Brothers and Modest Mouse, Flimpsons. I've been recommended Streetlight Manifesto before. Are they good?

Are you asking if they're good live, or are you asking who they are? They're a ska band from New Jersey in the U.S. (pretty cool that people in New Zealand are talking about them), although they hate being classified as ska, but boo-hoo, that's what they are. High energy, fast tempos and wicked horn lines; pretty awesome group. And the Doobie Brothers actually performed at some little weekly concert series in a small city nearby, so it's kind of funny that you're jealous and it was incredibly easy for me to walk in and see them.

Boyzone (I was dragged along to the concert as a child by my mom and sister and remember hating it. The only thing I was hoping for was that Mr. Bean would appear because he was in the video for "Picture of you" lol)

I also seen Depeche Mode a few years ago in Dublin during their "Tour of the universe"...it was fucking awesome! Right next to the stage (Which had a runway built in that extended out into the crowd at one point allowing the lead singer to high five everyone during "Enjoy the silence"). Not to mention the bar next to the stage and the weed being passed around (Seriously, the weed smoke was more visible than half of the pyrotechnics).

    Just be thankful
