Personally, for the program, I hope it's either "The Simpsons" or "Futurama" (which was a great episode because it showed why the Professor kept Zoidberg around despite being grossly incompetent). Sure it had a great song by Scott Grimes, but "Hot Water" isn't Emmy-worthy.

As for the actor, Maurice deserves it for his VA in "The Silence of the Clamps". But, will Harry ever win anything?

I guess that must have been one helluva great penguins episode. At least Maurice LaMarche won again and the Simpsons didn't. Since Al Jean links the quality of the show with winning awards, maybe he'll slowly start to realize the state it's in by not winning Emmy's for 4 years in a row. Probably not.
500 episodes, about 200 good ones.

The episode "Whacking Day'' curiously aired the same day as Seinfeld's "The Contest'', which deals with a different kind of whacking.

Then again, it's the one show that was CGI, and those tend to do well in awards shows (the way Disney's Prep & Landing won two years ago).

In fact, the episode was a special; normally, the series runs outside of prime time, and, in fact, won the Daytime Emmy for animated program this year. (Yes, they're "allowed to do that"; Pinky & The Brain was normally a daytime show, but its Christmas Special premiered in prime time and ended up winning a primetime Emmy.)

I was more surprised by LaMarche's win - I figured last year's win was more of a "lifetime achievement award."

Yeah I guess. I'm wondering if all the Fox shows split the vote though...if that's even how voting works. I just can't imagine any other way this series could've won...unless Nick bribed the voters...
