Ice bad defensively? Their only weakness is to fire though isn't it? Rock/ground types have way more weaknesses...

I haven't seen anyone use a rock or bug-type effectively yet! Even though stats might prove otherwise, I'm still saying that bug and rock-types are the weakest types out there.

Albeit I suppose Golem would be the best bet for a rock-type, and Butterfree/Pinsir for a bug-type (old Kantoness)

Yes ice is the worst defensive type : 4 weaknesses and only one resistance.

Ah yeah, I recall rock now. Fighting and Steel too huh? I always forget what Steel is strong against since I rarely use it. At least one of those seems unnecessary but like bug I think the ice type is best utilized when given a move to a pokemon of another type. For example any water type should be given a decent ice move.

    I agree with you on that, especially when it (water-type) can counter a type-disavantage v a grass-type.

Ice is the only type weak to the steel.
I prefer learn a move like Ice Beam to a water type too.

Steel isn't strong against rock? I dunno why but I always thought it was. Feels like it should be ya know? Steel being the only thing hard enough to cut through rock kinda deal? I dunno...

Apparently the psychic-type has fallen from grace since it's early Gen 1 dominance?

Yeah but that was pretty necessary honestly. Way too overpowered in gen. 1

Correct. The psychic-type back in the day was effectively the king of types!

But Sabrina's the gym leader of that type so all is forgiven!

But seriously, the only two types its moves are super effective against are Grass and Bug, and Fire can do that and more, including Steel, which Poison has no effect on at all. I'll concede that Toxic is a great status infliction, but that's about all Poison has going for it, IMO.

That's a pretty huge thing to have going for it though. I'd say Poison, along with Bug and Ice, is also best when given to a pokemon of another type. In this case Toxic.

I think that if Poison was super effective against Water (water pollution, anyone?), it would make the type better, as it would be able to do something to greatly stand out from Fire.

Sensible suggestion that! The poison-type needs more love...

So it's like The Ventriloquist in Batman.

I can see @Captain Pistachio dressing up like that for some reason.
