    They should retcon those weird evolution methods from the newere generations. (eg. evolving at night while holding specific item and being male while having learned a certain move)

    I mean... how is anyone supposed to find out that stuff without checking the internet for information?

    To be honest it's not fair for us people who don't know anyone with a Pokemon game. I always thought that another alternative to trading should be added for us lone-Pokeman battlers for Machamp, Gengar, etc.

    Yeah, trade evolutions are by far the hardest Pokémon for me to obtain, since while I know a few people who play Pokémon, most of them play much older versions, and the one person who also played Black/White isn't playing it now.

    And it's not like the GTS would help...ugh. What a terrible place.

    That's a good idea! Another alternative would be that once you beat that 'trade' Pokemon in battle you can evolve your Pokemon. For example, you beat Agatha's Gengar, your Haunter evolves into it. To make it a challenge maybe make it that you have to beat Gengar WITH the Haunter you are trying to evolve.
