the dumbening of homer

now i dont care if dumbening is a real word or not, but this encompasses what i want to see discussed.

as the simpsons creators are claiming that people are constantly critisizing homer becoming dumber in one of the commentaries, i started wondering if this could have been an actuall fact.

because i as an avid simpson viewer could not but conclude that homer turned from an angry frustrated father that had some rather clever moments, into an wandering empty mind doing nothing more than slapstick jokes.

are the writers going to far with this dumb homer, or did they find the golden vein that balanced the show and made homer better ?
or whatever other questions might arise from this concept.

for a bunch of simpson fans you sure seem to lack knowledge about invented non existant words in the series (embiggens, cromulant, debigulator,etc..).
so i made the title with a non existant word.
