Simpsons World: The Ultimate Episode Guide CHEAP!

Not trying to spam you folks, but I had to share this. Barnes & Noble has the Simpsons World: The Ultimate Episode Guide: Seasons 1-20 for $22.48 on their website. It listed for $150.00 when it was first published. I picked one up in the store yesterday - it's well worth that! Plus you can usually find a 15% off coupon/code online.

I'll wait for the The Simpsons: Beyond, Passed, Super Whoopty Doo episode Guide that'll have Seasons 1-22.

Just got mine today at my local Barnes & Noble for $25.00. Pretty good deal, considering how much it originally sold for.

Hmm, I already have two copies of the episode guides from 1-8 and 9-10, and one of 11-12 and 13-14. The only thing stopping me from getting this is the fact that there will eventually also be one for the whole series, which definitely has two more seasons, but could possibly have ten more seasons. Are the guides for seasons 15-20 good?
    Season 24: Moonshine River: C | Treehouse of Horror XXIII: B- | Adventures in Baby-Getting: B+ | Gone Abie Gone: C+ | Penny-Wiseguys: D+ | A Tree Grows in Springfield: C- | The Day the Earth Stood Cool: B+ | To Cur With Love: B+ | Homer Goes to Prep School: C | A Test Before Trying: B- | The Changing of the Guardian: C+ | Love is a Many-Splintered Thing: C | Hardly Kirk-ing: B- | Gorgeous Grampa: B+ | Black-Eyed, Please: B- | Dark Knight Court: B- | What Animated Women Want: C | Pulpit Friction: B- | Whiskey Business: C | The Fabulous Faker Boy: C | The Saga of Carl Carlson: B- | Dangers on a Train: B+

Despite the fact that the episodes themselves suck, the pages for Seasons 15 through 20 are actually pretty decent. Nicely laid out, with a good balance of text and graphics to keep it visually interesting (something the third and fourth guides sorely lacked). The only downside is, they don't take much of an opportunity to give character profiles to supporting characters that still don't have them, like Jasper, Miss Hoover, LuAnne Van Houten, and others. Instead, they cop out by profiling "alternate" versions of characters (Maggie the Pox Princess, Lisa as Jake Boyman, Presidential Candidate Ralph Wiggum, etc.) or inanimate objects (Geezer Rock, Bart and Marge's tandem bicycle, the Forget-Me-Shot). It's almost like they were deliberately avoiding it - the character profile for "All About Lisa" is the inverted double-struck penny, when it really should've been the perfect opportunity to finally give Sideshow Mel a profile.

I'd still recommend it, though, because they went back and completely overhauled every page from the first ten seasons, and not only do they all look great, they also contain more memorable quotes and scenes. Well worth the purchase, especially with a discount like this one.

I did end up ordering it yesterday actually. In the past, I bought the episode guides with only 2 seasons for $15, so I figured that this was DEFINITELY worth the price. At the very least I get info on 6 more seasons - which don't always have great episodes, but I usually end up buying the boxsets anyways.

    I ordered it yesterday...paid $20.55!

Saved a LOT more on-line than if I were to purchase it at a B & N store: they wanted $25.98...plus 8.25% California sales tax.

Hey...for that price...why not is right!

Got mine last Friday: when Ernest Borgnine died, I decided to mark Post-Its on the names of the guest voice celebrities who passed away.

I noticed it sitting out at Barnes and Noble when I went birthday shopping, but I did not get it. All I'm really curious to see are the page layouts; the information I do not care about that much. The $150 original price probably makes sense in terms of the work they put into it (college textbooks are so expensive because of all the time spent making them), but realistically nobody wants to pay it. I was mad to see an iPod Nano drop from $150 to $125 a month after I bought one - hope nobody who bought this guide before it dropped $128 jumped off any buildings...

I was lucky here in the UK to get mine for £4.99 (yeah, really) at The Works. I was really suprised as the week before I got it it was priced at £135.00!

The final edition with all 26-ish seasons will be so large it'll simply have to be comprised of two volumes - or as a file that'll take up a sizable chunk of your Kindle. I liked the original guides as a kid, back when I thought the show would end soon enough and that my S1-8 guide would have been comprised of about 75% of the entire show's length.

I went to Barnes & Noble over the weekend and spotted four Simpsons World books in the bargain bin section for $25 each. A major deal! Shame I already own it, I would have bought it again just for the satisfaction of getting it for that low a price.

Same here. I also saw a discount for only $15 at Barnes & Noble during an early chunk of July.

I almost bought a second one, just so I could feel the satisfaction of getting it for that price.
