I felt we should have a discussion of the film as well. I just picked this up at Target after not seeing it since it hit theaters in '96, and I have to say, it is definitely up there with Bigger Longer and Uncut and Mask of the Phantasm films at being one of the best silver screen adaptions of popular animated television shows. It does get a little boring, and some gags become tired, but overall, it's a delicious treat, with biting satire of how our government blows things completely out of proportion. When it falls, it falls silently, being able to dust itself off before you can look, but when it rises, you can tell.

I haven't seen it in at least 5 years, quite possibly twice that, but I did like it when I was younger. The guy from Unsolved Mysteries was in that right? His voice always stood out.

Thank you oh so much for reminding me of this brilliant film. My duty for next weekend is to find my DVD and watch this masterpiece. Definitely jam packed full of some really funny jokes. Probably my second favourite television show-film ever behind Bigger Longer and Uncut and above The Simpsons Movie

This shows up on HBO and/or Cinemax frequently, so it's one of those movies I've watched many times in portions (along with renting the DVD of course). My friends and I say "Are you the kids that were hwhackin' it in my tool shed?" quite often.

I do think the hallucination sequence is awkward, though. They wanted to fit some sort of "music video" into the movie without ruining the format and confusing first-time Beavis and Butthead watchers. I think that could have easily been fixed by having Beavis and Butthead rip on music videos during the end credits instead of just having the text float. Ah, well.

The hallucination sequence was thrown in because MTV was pressuring Judge to put music videos in the movie. Mike mentions in a DVD extra "I didn't wanna stop the movie to have 'em watch TV." So he basically threw the hallucination thing together and said "That can be your music video".
