i enjoy season 1, but that's it. i don't know why i bought all the damn box sets.

It never should've been brought back anyhow. And people call the movie season 5, god knows why, so it has had two, and the only good movie was the first one.
Yet season 1 does?! (It's not bad, but it's not the best of Futurama for sure!)
uh. yeah it makes me laugh. obviously you and me have completely different tastes (your avatar).
You must be the first person I've 'met' that prefers season 1 over 2/3/4! I simply don't understand why or how that is possible.
i personally think it's funnier in season 1, that's how it's possible.
Could you expand your opinion? What makes season 1 funnier? What has changed in season 2 that you made you think 'this isn't funny anymore'?
what do you want me to do, write down all the jokes i liked? that's all i can do. season 2 had some things i liked. then my 3 i never laughed anymore. simple as that. futurama doesn't even crack my top 10 favourite shows list. why don't you expand your idea on why the show is so damn good.
I'm so confused at all the hatred for this show. Why can't everyone just fucking enjoy things, and if you don't like it then don't complain about it?

Your argument is invalid
how is it invalid?
Futurama crafted out some of the best moments in the show's history in season 3 and 4. You start to see deeper relationships (Parasites Lost - when Fry is uncomfortable and unwillingly to start a relationship with someone he wanted, but the same person doesn't like the real Fry. Leela's disgusted by the change but Fry still cherishes Leela fondly and his song/hologram proves this. The Luck of Fryrish - A tale about a man who disliked his brother, but ended up loving him when he discovered what he did for him a thousand years ago, which proved his hidden love for his younger brother. The Sting, Jurassic Bark and The Devil's Hands are self-explanatory!)
I could go on and on, but you also have the quality episodes like Roswell that Ends Well, The Day the Earth Stood Stupid, Amazon Women in the Mood, A Tale of Two Santas, Time Keeps on Slippin', Insane in the Mainframe, The Ice-Catraz, Bendin' in the Wind, Godfellas, 30% Iron Chef, Future Stock (That Guy...), Love and Rocket, Crimes of the Hot, Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles, Obsoletely Fabulous, The Why of Fry, The Farnsworth Parabox and Three Hundred Big Boys are all episodes which have the perfect Futurama-style humor and in most cases a thrilling story with a funny, sweet and/or ironic ending.
That's what made Futurama great - good characters and clever, fast-paced humor to compensate it. They combine the storylines and the character's feelings perfectly to give an episode, adding brilliant quotes and jokes to the mix. For example, Insane in the Mainframe: Fry is sent to a robot prison/institute despite not being a robot or guilty of any wrong doing. Seeing Fry being treated like a robot and driven into insanity was brilliant televison humor but at the same time you felt bad for him, especially when you consider Fry's harmless and innocent. He then thinks he's a robot which simply adds more brilliant jokes to the episode (Leela's reply to Fry saying 'Negatif. If I was an human, why will no woman go out with me?' springs to mind. him throwing objects into an incinerator as well, and a few quotes:
Roberto: [Holds Zoidberg at knifepoint] Back off! I have hostages!
Dr. Zoidberg: Hooray! I'm helping!
Bender: Buddy, you may be wrapped in greasy skin, but inside you've got the heart of a robot.
Fry: Aw. Thanks, Bender.
Bender: Just like inside me, I've got the heart of a human.
[Takes out human heart; others recoil in horror]
Bender: What?... What?
Dr. Zoidberg: Fry, listen to me. Just because you say you're a robot doesn't make you a robot. Look at me. I call myself a doctor, but that doesn't make me a doctor. These fancy clothes do.
Leela: I'm going to remind Fry of his humanity, the way only a woman can.
Farnsworth: You're going to do his laundry?
The episode ends with Fry, in a way, conquering his fear of Roberto and saving his friends without him really knowing, and discovering that he's human because he sees his own blood. A good natured-ending in a strange, ironic sense, as robots were driving him crazy at the prison but it's his time there that ends Roberto's reign of criminal terror (as well as his insecurity/fear of him) and saving his friends' life. A typical Futurama episode and ending, which is absolutely perfect for me!
While the first season also these moments, the characters weren't developed enough and we were still learning about the direction the writers wanted to go towards to in the future (we did have hints, obviously) but season 3 and 4 was the peak of the show.

if everyone enjoyed the same things this forum wouldn't be as active or entertaining to be on.
You're right on that one, but this thread is on Futurama-Rama which is made specifically for people who are fans of the show

it's basically like the simpsons forums; discuss futurama here, simpsons there.
it's nice to have more fans post than non-fans, but that's not a requirement to post.
Yeah, I just wish it was. I hate seeing so much criticism for a show on its own forum
But that's just me. If someone dislikes something that I like, I usually take it the wrong way, so if I get outta hand just ignore me
ok good

To me Devil's Hands is THE perfect Futurama episode. I have to assume if you could only watch it once you aren't a fan of the series.

I do like that episode.

Yo Leela Leela just pissed me off.
Parasites Lost is my favourite episode simply because it's hilarious, well-written, it took an unoriginal concept and turned it into something more advanced and spectacular, followed by a touching ending. I feel the same way about Devil's Hands and Jurassic Bark
