I don't like the inclusion of all halloween specials. I disagree that they're always better than regular episodes. Just seems like cheating to me.

It's not the first time he's cheated and I think TOH V is his favorite considering that most of the Treehouse clips was from that episode (but still, he probably should have forced himself to pick one favorite of them).

I definitely agree with the sentiment that I'd love for him to make a Top 11 post Season 10 or so episodes. It CAN be done. What interested me most of all was how he didn's say that Lisa's Wedding was DEFINITELY the best/most emotional future episode, only PROBABLY which really made me wonder if he watched Holidays of Future Passed and was thinking of that as he said it. Probably not, but with all the praise the episode has gotten I would've liked him to mention it even if just to say he thought it was mediocre.

I just noticed, the first and last Swartzwelder written Jim Reardon directed episodes are on the list.

    Seasons 1-9 - Classic era
    10-12 - Scully era
    13-16 - Silver age
    16.5 - Into the abyss
    17 - The shit abyss
    18-24 - Zombie Simpsons

    I agree

    Great episode? Yes
The best/one of the best episodes ever made? No

    All my opinion of course

Well judging from his stock footage, he seem to have mostly like III, IV, V and for some reason "Four Great Women and a Manicure" weasle itself in

Personally I'd love to see him do a top 11 of threehouse segment if he find them so good

I also disagree about all Halloween specials being better than regular episodes, especially considering how awful the last one was . But I do agree about all classic Halloween episodes having at least one masterpiece in their segments.

I like his list and the first choice is especially interesting. While it may not be my first favourite episode it kind of was the first one that got me into the show. First time I find a real connection to it, even if I was a good student I could understand Bart's problems.

I don't always like Nostalgia Critic and I disagree with his opinions about James and The Giant Peach and Rover Dangerfield, which are good movies IMO, but I think this list is pretty good, well reasoned and interesting.
    My Simpsons homage!

He was saying that the Treehouse of Horror episodes allowed the writers to do what they want [Clip of THOH] instead of just doing what they wanted with the show [Clip of Maggie speaking in FGWaaM]

as in now they're just doing what they want...

His choices aren't all that surprising. Though, I wish he would've gone into why he liked "Bart Gets an F". It really is a series classic.

I do not agree with all these choices, but it was still a good top and he explains his choices very well so it was really fun to watch.

I've kinda lost interest with the Nostalgia Critic, and this was a breathe of fresh air.

I think he, as Doug himself, did comment on it once. Can't remember what he said for the life of me, though.

I've watch quite a bit of Nostalgia Critic so I was especially interested for this episode. I think his choices are great but one thing that really irritated me, particularly in this Simpsons one, is his review style.

Maybe it's because I already know what he's reviewing (as opposed to other Top 11s), but the way he went about explaining why he picked an episode seemed rather clumsy. He repeats the same point again and again and just when I think he's done - he'll say it once more. Probably a minor nitpick, but I think he could've been a bit more concise and fluent, which is odd because he usually is in his other videos.

I'm still not satisfied until I see him do a 'Top 11 Post-Season 8 Simpsons Episodes' list and I still would like to know why he pretended that people wouldn't like his #1 choice.

he probably thought people wouldn't like it because he probably thought people would expect a choice like LETS or something

I think it's mostly because it's a season 2 episode, and most people feel that the show hadn't gotten as good (or at least not as funny) as it would eventuelly get yet at that point.

I rewatched the video on Youtube and I saw a comment from the uploader that it had been edited due to Fox and lo and behold, when I headed over to the NC site for the official video, now he goes into why he picked is #1 choice (at 18:39 in the video) so don't miss the uncut version if you haven't seen it already:

I believe there was some legal trouble from the start which didn't allow him to talk about it and/or show clips from the episode, just briefly revealing the episode title and then cut to the end with "I'm the Nostalgia Critic..." which comes afterwards, but now he's allowed to have it all in the video.

What do you mean? Wasn't all of that in the video when he first made it?

Nope; not when I first watched it. I can't remember if it was on the link in the first post, at thatguywiththeglasses.com or another site, but as I described, that whole part with clips from his #1 choice and him talking about it was gone. There was no note about the removal and the title of the episode just scrolled by with no explanation following so I thought it was intentional until I rewatched it now.
